Hello everyone, my name's Faith. Apparently Jumpropeman thought I was getting a bit lazy at my job advertising for the fites, so he stuck some little hologram projectors on a hovering camera and had me fly about trying to get his pre-fite show for him. It was quite interesting watching all of you interact...
Anyway, the day before the brawl brought out quite a variety of actions from the brawlers who entered. I have here ten vignettes I managed to snag as I totally-did-not-stalk the people as they performed their last preparations. Hope you enjoy!
1
---------------------------------------
The Drunken Gryphon was abuzz with action and activity the day before the brawl. The barkeeper had introduced a 1% off discount for thirsty brawl fans, and that had people there in droves. The people who came for the beer hadn’t expected to see so many brawlers there as well, and one fiter was taking the moment to bask in the glory of the people.
“Why yes, I’m sure I have this fite well planned out,” Tak-Sin said to a crowd of interested listeners. “Morgan and I have spent many hours training and preparing for this confrontation, and I am sure you will not be disappointed by our performance in the arena.”
“Well, if you have a plan, what is it?” An interested voice called from the back. It wasn’t a fan though, it was Scorpion. The young merfolk prince had caught his eye ever since the ninja came to scope out the world’s fiters in preparation for the brawl, but he had made the classic mistake of interpreting the prince to be a princess.
Tak-Sin could see in the ninja’s eyes that Scorpion was smitten, and rather than try to talk tough, Tak-Sin feigned weakness, “Oh, we have quite a few plans, but that mystery fiter has thrown us for a loop! We cannot possibly predict who it is, and I am afraid we might not be able to handle it alone…”
Scorpion pushed through the crowd and thrust a thumb into his chest, “Well I’M not afraid of some mystery fiter! If it is protection you need mi’lady, well I got the right stuff!”
A few murmurs came from the crowd from people who were confused about Tak-Sin’s gender themselves, but Tak-Sin eagerly accepted Scorpion’s help with a clap, “Why thank you Scorpion! I feel so much safer now that I have a big strong protector to keep me safe during the brawl.”
“Yarr?” Morgan asked, but Tak-Sin waved Morgan off and turned back to his adoring fans. There was one face amongst the crowd that was even more transfixed on Tak-Sin than Scorpion had been. The glimmering sheen of Tak-Sin’s clothes ignited a gold lust in the tiny heart of the imp Grutz. He was working his way through the crowd, and once he finally got close enough he tried to swipe the jeweled belt of Tak-Sin.
Both Morgan and Scorpion were quick to lunge at the imp, but Tak-Sin stuck his hands out to hold back his bodyguards. Grutz scurried away, but Tak-Sin called out to the little fellow and waved a coin of gold. Grutz returned, and then the merfolk prince tossed it toward the imp.
“Looks like I earned another friend.”
Grutz graciously took the gold, but he was off quickly to try and find more. It appears a treasure lust was strong in this one.
The business of the bar bothered two fiters as they sat around a table with a big piece of parchment in front of them.
“Alright 17, you helped Stanley out pretty well in that one fite, so I was thinking maybe we could work together to take down a few competitors in this big dust-up.”
17 nodded in approval, happy that Clint was willing to aid him in the brawl.
“Now, I think we should go for that big mammoth first. His skin is deteriorated a bit which should make it easier for us to-“
Clint was interrupted when a small man in green came over and slammed his drink on the table. “Don’t listen to the man, little crab. He’s trying to give you bum tips so ya can get killed!” Aiden Thane gulped down some ale to punctuate his sentence, but Clint was quickly on the defensive.
“What would you know, you dumb leprechaun?”
“Not a leprechaun lad, a claurichaun.”
“I couldn’t care less. We’re trying to plan here, and I’m sure your wee brain couldn’t understand it, so butt out!”
“Oh, I get ya. Send the crab to his death, and that’s just 38 folks left. Picking on the little guys, eh?
“For your information, I will be helping 17 out, and I’m only picking the big guys first because that’s what I know how to fite! If I knew how to fite little guys, we’d be going for them first!”
17 was getting increasingly cramped as the two fought. With each scream, the two got closer and closer to butting heads, and 17 had enough. He pushes them apart with his claws and tries his best to defuse the situation.
“aLliEs?” the crab suggested.
“No way, but I won’t waste any more time on this worthless drunk,” Clint said, popping his parchment up to hide the poorly drawn plans he had scrawled on it.
“Don’t worry little crab, I’ll try to avoid you meself. Can’t make the same promise for this stubborn bloke.”
Aiden walked away from the table and out of the tavern, muttering to himself. “Not able to handle the wee folk, are ya? I’ll keep that in mind…”

Prior to the start of the Brawl, a small group of competitors had been whisked away to a strange building. The place was grey and bland, and the many pieces of machinery in the place seemed to be mostly for decoration. There was one machine that was working, and that’s why a few of the competitors had been brought to the building under penalty of disqualification from the Brawl if they did not comply.
Swackhammer wanted the huge droves of money that a Big Bar Brawl could bring in, but he didn’t want the soil of his home planet tainted by dark forces. To try and avoid this, Swackhammer had brought five of the more questionable competitors to be evaluated by the machine to see if their taint may stain the arena. Among them were Permafrost, whose nature as a revived creature put him in questionable undead status. A few of the others were undoubtedly undead though, and to make sure their viruses or curses were self-contained or at least not airborne. Aevar, Forscythe, and Deadhead were all brought there to be evaluated by the machine.
Doomrider had tagged along as well, trying to keep track of Aevar before the brawl’s start. The two had previously discussed possible temporary armistices against other competitors, and Aevar had asked for some aid in trying to do the social part of the alliance that such a thing entailed. Permafrost was the first in the machine, and as the mammoth’s body was searched for unholy energies that may infect Moron Mountain, Aevar attempted small talk with Forscythe and Deadhead.
“Hail fellow warriors. It is a shame we must subject ourselves to these tests, is it not?”
Doomrider was quickly in Aevar’s ear, or at least near to where one would be. “Be less rigid man, these guys won’t respond to some frozen asshole. Unless they are frozen assholes themselves…”
Forscythe turned to Aevar, “I am not pleased with being subjected to these tests, but I have undergone many physicals and health evaluations in both life and death. It does not bother me so much as waste my time.”
Deadhead said nothing, he just stared off into the distance.
Aevar tried his best to unfreeze socially, “This is time better spent training for the battle, not passing an unnecessary test. We must regain some of the lost ground somehow. Perhaps a mutual agreement not to battle each other to make up for the lost time, a truce until such a thing needed to be broken.”
Forscythe considered it briefly. He did not want to be on the other end of Aevar’s sword if he didn’t have to be. “I have already allied myself with my fellow Masque member, but perhaps we can expand our alliance to include you as well.”
Permafrost’s screening completed and he was approved for battle. The mammoth lumbered out of the room, and it was now Deadhead’s turn to be screened.
“Good job buddy, but don’t let the nazi guy get away!” Doomrider whispered.
“Halt, before you submit yourself to the machination, what say you to this band of allies we have created?”
Deadhead stopped his slow shamble towards the machine and turned around. The jaw of the nazi hung open and emitted a dry growl that would have rattled bones if the only one’s present weren’t composed of unnatural anatomies.
“I think that’s a no…” Doomrider said, and Deadhead continued his walk to the machine. The tests began, but the machine quickly began quaking and steaming. There was a huge explosion, and when the smoke cleared Deadhead stood in the decimated device.
“WELL! I guess you’re all screened for battle! It didn’t get no bad readings because it broke, so everything’s all good, right?” Doomrider laughed and took off on his bike, leaving the three undead fiters to find their own way out of the damaged building.

When Aiden walked out of the bar, he passed a tiny campfire where Pozzo and his wagon had set up for the afternoon. The fire had been started a bit early, but it was apparent that he were cooking some food on the fire to try and whet the appetite of the troll who was locked to the front of the wagon. He was not going to feed him though, relying on the strength of a starving beast desperate for food to propel his slave to victory.
Gunter had been walking around when he smelled the fried fish that Pozzo and Briar were frying to tantalize the troll. Gunter waddled over, but the camp was blocked off by the wagon and a makeshift wood fence that Lucky could only peer over desperately. Gunter felt the troll’s pain, although the penguin had not been starving to the same degree Lucky was. Rather than try to find out a way to get into the encampment, Gunter conjured up a huge pile of fishsticks in front of himself with the Demonic Wishing Eye. Lucky didn’t even ask before he began shoveling mounds of the fried fish into his own mouth, content to have finally found a meal. Gunter didn’t mind, since the penguin had conjured up more fish than he could eat anyway.
Carla was walking towards the Drunken Gryphon when she spotted the strange sight of the troll and penguin sharing a pile of fish. Carla was enamored with the little penguin, but when she went over to investigate, Lucky got incredibly defensive of his food pile. The beast growled and tried to reach out towards her, but the wagon he was locked to prevented him from instantly crushing the girl. Pozzo and Briar were startled to see the wagon lurching forward, and as soon as they realized their troll was active, the beast began to receive heavy shocks from the collar it wore. Lucky was on his knees in pain, and Briar was instantly by Carla’s side.
“Please don’t bother our troll.” Briar then saw the pile of fishsticks, and not knowing the penguin’s powers, he immediately pinned the blame on Carla. “And please don’t feed him.”
Carla was whimpering from the almost-troll-attack, so she had no problem leaving the group alone. Gunter, however, was still eating the fishsticks. The shock collar prodded Lucky to move away, but he wanted to eat the fish so badly. As he marched forward, the troll continued to look back, his rage building for the penguin who got to eat all it wanted without having a worry in the world.

A temporary training site for Scorched Earth had been built by the Society in a building not unlike the one Deadhead and the other undead fiters had been called to. Unlike that building though, the machinery in this one was devoted to taking readings of Scorched Earth’s power and other statistics. As the Society’s representative in the brawl, they wanted to ensure he put on a good show.
Scorched Earth blasted training dummies with heat blasts and scorched flying targets, but a sudden crash nearby caused the superhuman to cease training.
“What was that?” He asked the group of attendants who were running the training program for him.
“Uh… We don’t know how, but this pig got in here and its knocking all kinds of stuff over. It’s wearing some red costume too, I think he’s from the brawl.”
“Whatever, it’s just a pig. Get him outta here so I can go back to breaking targets.”
There was another crash, but this time it was from the training course. The Custard Kittens had also found their way into the building, and their slimy bodies were spilling custard into important gears and mechanisms. Scorched Earth prepares to blast the cats, but an angry voice on the intercom interrupts him.
“Killing an opponent before the brawl is strictly prohibited, and would lead to your disqualification. Just wait for our custodians to come in there and clean them up.”
“HEYOOOO, What’s going on in here?” WALL!!’s face appeared in the room with the intercom and was busy making a ruckus for the overseers of Scorched Earth’s training.
“What now?” Scorched Earth asked, but all the Society’s employees were all too busy trying to shoo out the tiny fiters that they had no time to respond. It wasn’t until a few hours later that all three intruding fiters were expelled from the factory.
“Scorched Earth, we cannot figure out why, but those competitors infiltrated our testing base and may have gathered confidential information. During the Brawl, you must-“
“No, I’m not fiting those guys! They are just a bunch of small wimps! You actually think a pig stole vital data from you all?”
“Well… He was wearing a costume.”
“Just let me fite who I want to fite. That’s how I’ll do my best. The moment you bog me down with orders on who to kill is the moment some big guy gets the drop on me.”
Scorched Earth continued his training on into the night, and for the duration of the practice, the building had a huge increase in security to ensure no one else ambled on in.

The skies of Orvance were busy the day before the Big Bar Brawl, and for good reason. With the introduction of raised walkways, flying fiters suddenly had the threat of grounded opponents finding ways to reach them.
Dirk had been the first to go down the planet. He had been intending to just eat Doritos and watch Godzilla movies, but a short call from Josephine where he promised to be prepared guilted the dark angel into actually preparing a bit. He wanted to see Josephine the day before the brawl, but he had heard from Widow Maker and a few others about the first Big Bar Brawl, and he was afraid if he spent any time with Josephine before the brawl she may be attacked like Sarah was back during the first year of the event.
Instead, he was flying around the air, his orbitars spinning around as he practiced by shooting clouds. He didn’t know what Moron Mountain’s sky would be like in comparison, but he figured as long as he practiced something he would not have technically lied to Josephine about practicing. What Dirk didn’t expect was the airspace to be so occupied. The orbitars shot aside a huge cluster of clouds to reveal the shell of Gamera rocketing right towards him.
Dirk dodged and screamed after the turtle, but Gamera didn’t seem to hear him. On his back were grocery bags full of Doritos, booze, and Gamera movies. It wasn’t what Dirk had quite planned for today, but it was close enough that he tried to pursue the turtle for a night of fun and drinking.
What he hadn’t realized was he wasn’t the only one pursuing Gamera. Utsuho gradually comes into view, and soon the two are engaged in conversation as they fly after Gamera. Utsuho was apparently chasing Gamera as a test of her speed, and Dirk decided to go with that idea as well because chasing after a guy solely based on his grocery choice was a bit weird.
There were still two more fiters flying in the sky, but as Gamera, Dirk, and Utsuho passed by, they followed for yet another reason. Rainbow Dash quickly caught up with the other two, and Tank puttered along behind the main group.
“Hey guys, I’m just up here teaching Tank a bunch of my super cool aerial acrobatics!”
“We’re training, got to be a good flier to win this one! So many folks with wings around this time!” Utsuho said.
“I’m less worried about the other fliers and more worried about folks with guns. Being shot out of the sky like a duck in Duck Hunt is a lame way to go,” Dirk said.
“Well, not many people have guns… But oh! Can’t that one guy use spirits like bullets? Sounds like a big guy to watch out for!” Rainbow Dash said as she flew backwards to show just how much faster a flier she was than the others.
The three continued to talk as they pursued one turtle and a turtle pursued them. They eventually agreed to all go for Deadhead in the beginning to clear up the skies. “Alright then! But don’t get in my way! If you mess up my cool moves, you’re toast! Come on Tank, I’ll show you how to do a barrel roll! I heard rabbits really liked those things. Maybe you can show it to Angel when we win!”
Rainbow Dash and Tank took off, and Dirk was ready to use the disbanding of the group as an excuse to leave and go back to space himself, but Utsuho and Dirk slammed into the back of the turtle as it slowed down. The groceries fell of the turtle without him realizing it.
“Looks like we caught up, hey Dirk?”
“Sure does! Well, I gotta go. Training… shooting stuff… all that.” Dirk flew off to go back to his room and play video games all night. Utsuho went off to actually train her shooting stuff and all that, and when Gamera finally did land and reach back for the groceries, he found them gone.
“Well crap, now what are WALL!! and I supposed to do during the Brawl?”

Off in an unexplored corner of the ZFS cruiser there sat a library that was not often visited. Today though, it had quite a group of interested folks dropping by. Wheeler had converted the room into his own little skatepark, so when Mrs. Commanderson brought a group of 30 preschoolers in for a field trip to that portion of the cruiser, her first task was to clear the skateboarding snake out of the library.
Wheeler had mistaken Commanderson for some sort of level enemy and was fully prepared to engage her in combat before he saw the groups of young children who followed her in. Wheeler wasn’t ready to make to make a bad impression on the children, so he decided to flip by the “enemy” and do a series of tricks to impress his target demographic. The kids cheered, but Mrs. Commanderson quickly shushed them and told them to check out a few books.
While the kids were perusing the shelves, a few other folks came into the library and began looking around. Two such folks were Leonardo and Ricard, and determined not to waste much time, they approached Mrs. Commanderson.
“Madame librarian,” Ricard began, “We are looking for some texts on former fites.”
“Yeah, this guy needs to learn a few scary faces to conjure up during the brawl!” Leonardo added.
Mrs. Commanderson cawed at the two freelancers, “I’M NOT THE LIBRARIAN! I’M A TEACHER! YOU WILL HAVE TO FIND THOSE BOOKS YOURSELF! AND BE QUIET IN THE LIBRARY! ERAAAAAAK!!!”
Leonardo and Ricard took off into the bookshelves with no direction, but eventually the grey knight found the section where fite write-ups were stored. It was apparent the archives had been torn up and lost a bit, but amongst the books they did manage to find some of the fites from the first year, a novelization of the first Big Bar Brawl, and for some reason the only available copy of a write-up of the second year was a black and white manga book. Leonardo turned to hand Ricard the books, but the minstrel was further down the row looking at other literature. Leonardo walked up to his ally and Ricard greeted him.
“Look at this Leonardo, they have songbooks with all the national anthems of a planet called Earth. This would be quite an interesting collection of work to research.”
“What you need to research are these books,” Leonardo said, slapping the fite books into Ricard’s hands. “You can read those song books on your own time, but we need cool and tricky illusions for the brawl! Try to find the scariest looking guys or the ones with good win records.”
Ricard looked sad, but he made sure to sneak the national anthem book into his pile for later reading. The sellswords were about to go check out their books when a voice called out from nearby.
“Looking for a good book, eh? How curioussssss these tomes they lend here are. Just look at this one.” Mr. Daniel had appeared beside the freelances without them noticing, and now he was much too close to them for comfort. He held up a leather-bound book and began to peruse its pages.
“Do you not find it odd that we humansssss think our words are so valuable we kill other things just to contain our stories? The author of this book found his tale so important that not only did he have a tree die to tell it, but he took a beast’sssssssss life to give it an outer coating that lends it an air of inappropriate sophistication. The tale the author tellssssssss within is quite boring and bland, so does that make the sacrifices of the ones who died for it meaningless? Their legacy lies in the horrendous drivel of a tale this writer should never have shared with anyone.”
The freelancers were slowly trying to walk away as Mr. Daniel ranted about the book in his hand, but the Monster Handler just drew closer and closer as they tried to backpedal away. Ricard decides to indulge the man, “Just what book are you holding in your hand?”
“Oh, it’s my autobiography, would you care to read it?”
Before the freelancers could respond, Mrs. Commanderson ambushed the group with her trademark shriek.
“ERAAAAAK! I TOLD YOU TO BE QUIET IN THE LIBRARY!! MY CHILDREN ARE TRYING TO READ!!! GET OUT OF HERE, BWARRRK!”
Mrs. Commanderson started flapping her wings at the three, and they all fled the library. Leonardo and Ricard had brought the books they were looking at, but Daniel had managed to snag a different tome than his own life story as he was shooed out. It was a universal bestiary, and the Monster Handler had a few ideas of what he might be able to do should he understand some of the creatures he was going up against.

--------------------------
Many fiters had their own methods or setups for training, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t a training area built just for those who wished to use one. A huge shooting gallery has been set up in a room aboard the spaceship, and it had everything from generic red-and-white targets to giant moving machines to near indestructible metals to blue-and-green targets!
Only three people were taking advantage of this course though. Samus had arrived early and was training on the many moving target and robotic AIs for almost half the day. She didn’t think she would have to share her shooting range, but Ulrika and Chet came to join her late in the day.
“I don’t see why we’re doing this Ulrika, if we couldn’t shoot what we were aiming for neither of us would be here today.” Chet groaned, dragging his huge decashot in with a grimace on his face.
"They set up a buncha jigger for us! There is nary a way I'm skirtin' a chance to blow apart some geegaw! Oi! Just post up and boot and rally a bit. Pafado estas ne ĉiam estas tasko vi scias!” Ulrika’s arm cannon flips open and immediately begins blasting apart some of the targets Samus hadn’t been able to hit. Samus glowers at the Karzantium woman and tries to step up her own shooting, but the plasma blasts of Ulrika’s cannon were simply far superior to Samus’s gun.
Chet sets up his Decashot and prepares to take a shot, “Just a waist of valuable ammo.”
The roars of Decashot fire, targets shattering, and beams blasting covers up the not so stealthy arrival of three sneaking Coneheads.
“Alright! We’re here!”
“Why are we here again?”
“I don’t know, why are we here?”
“Wait, I think I know!”
“Tell us!”
“Wait, no I don’t.”
“Oh! It must have been me then! Well, you noticed how few choice babes were in the brawl, right?”
“Yeah! Total spider sausage party!”
“And the only chicks are dumpy kids!”
“Well, not two of them. See those two there? Only hot babes in the brawl.”
“Hey man, I don’t dig armor. Where’s those babe’s bodies?”
“I heard she has something called a Zero Suit.”
“Zero suit?”
The Coneheads stared intently at Samus, the bounty hunter too caught up trying to outshine Ulrika to notice she was being ogled.
“She’s not taking it off.”
“Yeesh! Just two hot babes!”
“And one is only hot if she gets naked!”
“Wait, is the Zero Suit really just her naked?”
“I don’t think so…”
“We should ask!”
“Might as well, there are no other hot babes to chat up.”
“What about me, boys?” A robotic voice came from above the Coneheads. Hypotenuse was clinging from the wall like a spider with Light Work crawling around beside her. She dropped down and stood above the Coneheads. “Am I not attractive?”
The Coneheads started walking backwards.
“Oh yeah, totally.”
“You’re like, a 7!”
“I’m totally into octopuses!”
“Yup, the arm thing really does it for me!”
“We gotta go, we uh…”
“We left our son in a stove!”
“We have a son?”
“We have a stove?”
The Coneheads didn’t stick around much longer though. The three tripped over each other to escape the intimidating sight of the 16-armed woman. Hypotenuse laughed as they fled, and Light Work gave her an odd look.
“Do not worry little one, I was…” a sudden crackle came from Hypotenuse’s mouth, much louder than her previous French malfunctions, “KRZZT, simplement s'amuser.” Light Work clambered up her to try and repair the vocal malfunction, but Hypotenuse grabbed him and pulled her into her chest like she was clutching a teddy bear. She didn’t mind her malfunction, but it had gotten worse since Sine updated her fite programming. She had decided to scope out Ulrika and Samus to gather data on their fiting styles, but all she was seeing was a pissing contest between two people trying to prove their arm cannon was better.
“Allons petit, nous avons plus de gens à KRZZZT gather data on.” Hypotenuse exited the room as quietly as she had entered, and soon Samus and Ulrika found themselves without any more targets to shoot. They looked at each other, and although Ulrika didn’t seem to bent up over the contest the two had, Samus was eager to prove her superiority later in the brawl, but she had more pressing combatants to fite.
Samus walked out of the room and pulled up her visor, looking over a public posting of the fite roster she had scanned. From her experiences with foes like Ridley, she knew her first target would have to be the giant reptile Gamera.

----------------------
Besides the target range, the Fite Yer’ Mates organization also set up a weight room for more traditional forms of training that involved bulking up. General Cleft was trying to use it, but the Moon Cleft balancing dumbells on his head did not really help his strength at all. It did help him get good at balancing things on his head though, but his spikey head made that a very difficult skill to ever find a use for. When Saxton Hale came in leading Moosh with a trail of Reese’s Pieces, the Cleft dropped his weights and went over to investigate.
The Australian walked by a bunch of benches and pilfered all their weight, cramming them into a giant bowl that he could easily heft up and down. Why was he carrying such a giant durable bowl? Well he had just finished feeding Moosh from the big old bowl and was now bringing the bear in as additional weight for him to benchpress. Moosh flew up on top of the weight bowl and sat down munching on some of the food Saxton had given him. Saxton began to press the entire collection of objects like it was nothing.
When Cleft saw the Australian lifting more than he could, he was immediately determined to show his own American strength off. However, Saxton had taken all the weights, so Cleft went racing out into the hallway. The speedy stone almost ran into Ariel, who had heard about the target range and was eager to check it out. The rushing rock almost collided into the tiny archer, but when he came to a full stop he spoke to her.
“Any idea where a patriot could find something incredibly huge to lift? This is a national emergency!”
“A national emergency?”
“Well, a personal one. Some Australian is in the weight room benchpressing tons of weight and this big blue bear! I need to show him what’s what!”
Ariel had stopped listening when Cleft mentioned the bear. The archer stomped into the weight room and shouted, “Just what are you doing Saxton Hale?”
“I’m lifting weights of course! Got to keep the body in tip top shape!”
“That’s not a weight up there! That’s a living being!”
Moosh decided to pipe up at this point, “But he’s feeding me for doing it…”
“Listen, you don’t have to be humiliated just to get food. I know a place you can get it easily. My family is nuts about food, so I know all the good places.”
Moosh fluttered off the pile of weights and hovered over to Ariel. “Will you really feed me?” Barkle popped out of the bear's fur as Moosh spoke, and Ariel reached out to pet the dog.
“Of course. Just come with me.” Ariel picked the dog up off Moosh and began petting him as they walked away from the weight room.
“You can ride me if you want ma’am.”
“No thanks… Although I may take you up on the offer in the brawl. I’ll keep you safe and you do the same for me, okay?”
Saxton Hale had continued to lift his weights for a bit after they left, but now it was ceasing to be even a bit of challenge.
“Gah!” he said as he tossed the bowl aside, “Might as well be benchpressing notebook paper.” Saxton stormed out of the weight room. If he couldn’t get find a good challenge now, perhaps someone during the brawl could push him to the limit. He wasn’t too enthused though about the contestant selection, and there was no time he was going to waste time on wimps.
A few minutes later General Cleft came bursting into the empty weight room.
“Think yer so tough, Aussie? Take a look at this!”
Cleft shook a tiny shake weight at the empty room, gradually slowing down as he realized no one else was in there.

Over on Moron Mountain, the final few preparations were taking place for tomorrow’s brawl. Scrawny little aliens known as Nerdlucks scampered about the arena hooking up cables and ensuring the gravity boosters worked.
Mr. Swackhammer oversaw it all from his chair, chomping on a cigar and letting the ash crash down into a tray held by an unfortunate little alien. The preparations were going as planned except for an incident involving his Curse Screener. There was just one last thing he was waiting for…
A Nerdluck scampered in with a message for Swackhammer. “Sir! Sir! The box with the mystery fiter in it has arrived!”
“Excellent! Bring it in!” Swackhammer got out of his chair and clambered down to the floor below. Jumpropeman appeared beside him.
“How’s it going friend?”
“Your mystery fiter just got here. The people are gonna pay big bucks to see what you got for us this year ghost!”
Pushed in on an anti-gravity dolly by a workman who was well on in years, the giant box looked similar to how it looked the first year, except it was about 40 times taller. The box was made up of strange red metals that steamed and smoked constantly. The front end of the box had not one but two peepholes for terrifying red eyes to peer through. The front end of the box was also absolutely riddled with various locks, enchantments, and other knickknacks to keep it shut.
Swackhammer stared up at the absolutely massive mystery box, and what caught his eyes the most was a little sticker on the side that said “To: JRM, LOVE: Satan. XOXO”
“What the hell is this Jumpropeman?”
JRM laughed and began to explain, “Well, you know Satan. We get the word devilish from him for a reason. Never can take that guy seriously.”
Swackhammer continued to stare at Jumpropeman in disbelief. “I know Satan?”
“You know what I mean man!”
Swackhammer looked the box over and didn’t look too happy. “Just what is in this crate exactly that you had to order it from the devil himself?”
“Well, you know that whole deal about no souls going to Hell thing? Well, we worked out more than a few deals thanks to Devil Ed. We get this bad puppy here, and some demon down in Hades gets his chance to rumble with Ed until the brawl is over. Shame he couldn’t come back, but I’m much more excited for what I got in this here crate.”
“And that is?”
“I ain’t telling! But I couldn’t have got her without pulling a few strings. Kinda hard to get a dead gal into a brawl without some way of bringing her back.”
“She’s dead?”
“Well, she’s died at least. Either way, I’m sure everyone is going to go insane when they see it! Now I got to go get ready myself! Been a while since I fought with just the old jump rope!” Jumpropeman disappeared to go train, but Swackhammer was still looking the box over.
“Insane, huh? I got an idea. Nerdlucks! Get over here and start cracking these locks off. Get one of those locks on it, what’re they called? Hook and eyes? Just put that on there.”
The Nerdlucks got to work cracking off the locks, a few singed by the still steaming metal as they worked.
“I have the perfect plan. We’re gonna post an auction online, and whoever is the highest bidder we will fly into the Big Bar Brawl to open the box and reveal the Mystery Fiter. We’ll make millions on that alone! Plus we can get a concession stand going, a betting corner, do we have any foam fingers laying around that don’t say "The Monstars:? Get a marker and start writing fiter’s names on those.
"We’re gonna be rich, boys.”

-------------------
As we were broadcasting the pre-fite show, we came across a curious situation where a few fiters had lagged behind instead of boarding the vessels to go to Moron Mountain for the fite. Here is what we found them doing just before we herded them onto the vessels that were to carry them to the Big Bar Brawl.
“We’re gonna be rich, boys”, the television said as the ninth part of the pre-fite show came to a close. Widow Maker had stayed behind in the bar a bit longer than most other people. The insect clicked off the television with her claw and got up, giving Sheryl her money and preparing to set out. Before Widow Maker set out, she spotted Purnima slowly making her way down the halls.
“What are you still doing here?” Widow Maker asked the grub.
“Oh, Widow Maker! How perfect! I was just putting the finishing touches on Bunnymund when alack! A tear appeared in the folds of my dress! I could not risk the public image of the Deadly Efficient line by appearing in such a dreadfully tattered rag! I had to sew up a new dress, one more appropriate for the battle ahead! Can you see the three motif present?”
Purnima spun around in place, but Widow Maker honestly couldn’t tell how it was different from the other dress. The three motif was more related to the materials, but Widow Maker nodded in order not to offend the bug.
“My, is it almost time for the brawl already? Why have you lollygagged behind? I figured you to be one champing at the bit for this fite to begin!”
“Yeah, that’s actually why I stayed behind,” Widow Maker said, “Apparently every year there is a big pre-fite show where they show you how everyone is preparing. It’s full of good information that would really help everyone else to know getting into the battle.”
“Did you glean anything useful from the broadcast?”
“Kind of. Some of it was disconnected nonsense, there was something about Spider-Pig and a bunch of small guys invading one of the Society’s bases. But there were also quite a few alliances formed, a bunch of hints for the mystery fiter, and apparently the guy to watch out for isn’t Aevar so much as Deadhead. That guy’s got something up with him. I sniff a godbeast on the horizon…
What I found curious though is the lack of Yahoo Bot and Hater.”
Oh. Oh crap, we did forget about them didn’t we?
The camera whisked around the ship in its search to find Hater, but all it could find was Yahoo Bot and Bing Bot. With so many people focused on the brawl, the ship was quite calm and it was easy for the two robots to plaster advertisements all over the place. The robots did it with such amazing speed that the camera could barely keep up with them. In fact, the two robots quickly made their way towards where Widow Maker and Purnima were chatting.
The two robots gave both bugs a flier for their own personal search engines and then rushed off to deliver more spam. The two bugs looked at the leaflets and found the nearest trashcan. The two bugs tried to cram the papers into the trash can lid, but they were both too lost in conversation too notice that the papers didn’t go in, and that the trash can was actually Hater.
The droid turned around and looked and saw the two ads on the ground. All day people had been trying to shove those papers into his head mistaking him for a trash can, and he was getting fed up with it. If he had the time, he’d show those litterers just who was the trash around here!
Hater beeped out a curse in binary and took off for the ship that would ferry him to Moron Mountain, all the while trying to dodge disinterested spam targets who were eager to dump their unwanted pamphlets onto the poor bin-shaped bot.
------------------------
That's all for this pre-fite show! Tune in tomorrow for the main event and see what this all means, if any of it means anything at all! I'm pretty sure that part with Spider-Pig is really important!
And until the Big Bar Brawl 3 begins, stay lovely folks!
Love, Jumpropeman. XOXO

Fite 66- Confessions of a Fiteaholic (Rainbow Dash vs. Flu)
Tonight in the Fite Yer’ Mates arena we have yet another winged creature with attitude taking on an unusual alien that shoots lasers, but it will definitely not be the same game! Our battle tonight will take place in a humble little strip mall on the side of a busy road. The road was going to have traffic, but we borrowed our traffic AI from a Maxis build and decided it would be smarter to have no simulated traffic after all. Beside a packed parking lot, our competitors will fite in the unoccupied mall full of hair salons, dollar stores, and the giant husk of a once popular movie rental chain. The plucky pony Rainbow Dash shall be fiting the flighty Rodian Flu, so without further ado, let’s start Fite 2 of Fite Yer’ Mates!
Flu had been relieved before the fite started when he had been briefed on the location. The interior of a strip mall seemed like a place the flying pony might have trouble flying about in. He had quite a confident swagger about him as he waited for the fite, but when he was finally teleported into the simulated arena, his confidence quickly evaporated.
They weren’t starting IN the mall, they were starting ON TOP of the mall!
Rainbow Dash smirks, picking up all the confidence Flu had just lost. She immediately flutters up into the air as Flu begins to reach frantically for his blaster. As soon as he drew the blaster though, a rainbow streak comes slamming into him, knocking the pistol out of his hands. Flu desperately scrambles to try and reclaim it, but Rainbow Dash comes by again for a second streak, moving so quickly that Flu can’t even predict her coming. Flu is knocked about the roof for a bit, unable to effectively counter the speedy pony on the flat rooftop.
Flu realizes he has no hope if he sticks to the rooftop. After being kicked around a few more times, Flu tumbles off the roof, sweeping up his blaster as he goes careening off the side of the building. Rainbow Dash crashes into the rooftop as she tries to catch him rolling off, breaking through the ceiling of the building.
Flu’s fall isn’t very clean. He lands on his side and groans at the sudden sting he felt from the impact. He spends a moment trying to recover from the fall, but soon the doors of the movie rental store swing open. Rainbow Dash was a bit dusty from crashing through the roof, but she was fine otherwise. She does need a moment to rub the dust out of her eyes, which gives the Rodian the time he needs to get back up and back into the fite. He runs towards the packed parking lot and took cover behind a large SUV, using the vehicles mirrors to check to see what Rainbow Dash was up to. The pony did a quick twist, flinging most of the remaining dust from her rainbow mane.
The filly flies into the air once more, surveying the parking lot in search of Flu. Flu quickly rolls under the SUV to avoid detection and begins to aim a shot at the pony. A single well-aimed shot would take her down, but Rainbow Dash was not taking her time in her search. She could sweep the entire lot in one second and then alter her search pattern, meaning Flu couldn’t even see her except for a few glimpses. The search was boring the pegasus though, so she lands in a huff and begins to think of a way to flush Flu out.
Flu realizes the pony had ceased her search and begins crawling from car to car to try and find her. The front of his clothes are streaked with oil and grime from his slow journey, but he eventually finds where the pony had landed. He cautiously lines up his shot, aiming right for the pony’s face, but it turns out laser fire is not as fast as the speed of an idea. Rainbow Dash takes off almost as soon as the Rodian fires, and although her leg is hit, she appears to be fine. Her leg grows numb as she hovers in the sky above Flu, but despite the injury, she decides to go through with the plan she had cooked up.
Rainbow Dash begins to fly in a circle, kicking up one of her famous tornadoes. The cyclone begins to lift the cars off the ground, clearing the parking lot of cover for the cautious alien. Flu quickly ditches his hiding place as it begins to be sucked into the vehicular vortex, and now Rainbow Dash can clearly see her foe. Abandoning her whirlwind to spin around in the parking lot on its own, Rainbow Dash dashes towards Flu, slamming her three good hooves into his back and pushing him into the wall of the strip mall.
Rainbow Dash tries to begin stomping him against the wall, but Flu grabs her immobilized leg and swings her into the wall himself. He pistol whips the pony’s wings a few times before she is able to kick him off of her. She is still able to flutter out of his reach, but the injury to her wings slows her down and gives Flu the chance to track her accurately. A salvo of laser blasts forces Rainbow Dash to dance around the skies in a frantic attempt to avoid further stunned limbs. Using his brief upper hand, Flu works his way to one of the store’s doors. Noticing her opponent’s plans, Rainbow Dash tries a desperate dive in his direction, but he quickly scrambles into the hair salon and slams the door in her face.
The slower speed of the injured pegasus means she lands on the ground with an injured muzzle instead of crashing through the door. Rainbow Dash tries the handle, but Flu has already placed a shelf against the door. This doesn’t prevent her from opening it since it opens outwards, but it does mean a giant shelf lands on her once she has opened it. The shelf was full of hair care products, and they spill out onto the poor pony. Besides the sting of mixing chemicals, Rainbow Dash also finds herself with a much more dire situation. Her multicolored mane was now an ugly brown, not a brunette dye job so much as a dirty look that you usually only find on people who have never heard of shampoo. She pushes herself out from under the shelf, but when one of the hair salon’s mirrors reveals her situation, she lets out a long and prolonged “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
She tries a Rainblow Dry on herself, but the chemicals had done what seemed like irreparable hair damage. Brunette Dash begins to seethe, her face turning red with anger. She would find Flu and make him pay for dimming the rainbow of Rainbow Dash.
Flu was hiding in the back of the hair salon, his pistol trained on the door to the office. A store with more shelves would have suited him better, but he’d make do with where he was now. He had heard the pony’s scream of anger and positioned a desk between him and the door, knowing now that she probably won’t be coming into the office at a reasonable speed. His hand shook from both tiredness and fear, but time kept ticking on and the pony still hadn’t entered the office.
Outside of Flu’s hiding spot Rainbow Dash was angry, but a convenient black trail of oil showed her exactly where her opponent had gone to hide. She had almost charged straight into the office without thinking, but the pain in her wings gave her pause. Rather than go in injured, Rainbow Dash left the salon and went down the mall to a new age herb shop. She perused the many dubious mixtures and herbs until she found a bunch that claimed to cure pain. She grabbed the pill bottles and went to the cashier, but after waiting for a few seconds she remembered there were no clerks so she just took the remedies right there. They weren’t the kind Zacora would whip up, but after a brief wait the pain in her wings cleared up. Her leg was still numb from the stun blast, but her wings were back to tip-top shape. She went back into the parking lot, ignoring the still-spinning vehicular vortex, and went back into the salon. The bell on the door jingled a bit, cluing Flu in that the pony had been about.
Even more on guard than before, Flu had moved a few more things onto the desk to serve as barriers for when the pony rushed in. He had quite a little setup going, with a filling cabinet lying on its side atop the desk with a fake potted plant serving as the peak of his junk pile. If the pony rushed in, she would hit quite a bit of clutter before hitting the hiding alien.
The door of the office swung open. Flu quickly fired a few shots, but they failed to make contact with anything but the salon’s many mirrors. Suddenly, a huge flash of light filled the salon as Rainbow Dash let loose a Buccaneer Blitz. Flu was blinded, and he began firing wildly about the salon office, but Rainbow Dash pressed herself against the ground and slunk about knowing he wouldn’t be aiming low. Before his vision could clear up, Rainbow Dash got behind Flu and gave a heavy kick with her front legs to push the Rodian through his junk fort. Flu quickly stumbles out from under the junk and tries to go for his vibroblade…
Only to find it isn’t there.
There is a one weapon limit, remember? Thanks to our teleportation service we were able to disarm the Rodian of his secondary weapon before he arrived at the arena.
This wasn’t a good time to be finding that out though. Flu looked more afraid than ever of the pony. Rainbow Dash flew backwards just as the Rodian’s vision was returning to him, but by the time he could see the pony she was flying directly into his chest. She pushed Flu through the wall of the salon, through many souvenir and dollar shops until they reached the unoccupied movie store. There, she came to an abrupt stop, but the momentum kept Flu going until he crashed into the shelves containing scratched up DVDs of family comedies.
The Rodian was covered with debris and the products of the many different shops. He was barely able to keep himself from fainting, and at some point he had lost his blaster again. Rainbow Dash laughed, realizing her opponent was weary and unarmed, but a sudden toss of a statuette cleared up that misconception. Flu was now armed with a body covered with cheap plastic knickknacks that had got caught in his jacket or stuck to the oil. He began to chuck the hunks of plastic at Rainbow Dash, who had no problem dodging them now that she was aware of their presence. She flies in close to try and delivers another rough kick to the Rodian, but using a plastic stethoscope from a child’s play doctor set, Flu was able to rein the pegasus and pull her to the ground. He hopped on her back and prepares to clobber the pony with a cell phone charger when she takes off.
Flu holds onto his makeshift rein desperately as Rainbow Dash zooms around the spacious video store. The store was the largest in the strip mall, and Rainbow Dash used it to her advantage. When it was clear speed wouldn’t force her unwanted rider to dismount, she began to slam him against the walls of the place. Flu was knocked about hard, but he still wasn’t letting up. Even as the walls cracked from the impact of the high-speed pony, Flu hung on with a strange determination that could have only been caused from repeated blows to his head.
Suddenly, a car comes slamming through the store’s wall, hitting the pony and her rider out of the sky. The hole in the wall allowed them to see that the vortex outside was dying, and now the many cars it had captured were being flung free, many in their direction. Their battle ceased for the moment as both began to dodge the incoming cars as best they could. Rainbow Dash relied heavily on her speed to dodge them, but as soon as she’d dash away from one, another would come sailing towards her. Flu, on the other hand, watched the cars carefully. An expert in escaping dangerous situations, he mapped out a perfect escape route and was able to make it safely out of the store. The front wall was almost completely decimated by the time he had exited, and Rainbow Dash was still stuck inside.
Flu was naturally compelled to keep running, but it was obvious the video rental store would not hold up much longer. A conspicuous crack was appearing in the ceiling from being improperly supported from crumbling walls, and Flu came up with a scheme that might just be desperate enough to work. He grabbed a nearby handicapped parking sign and began to pry it loose, but it took much longer than he expected. Rainbow Dash had just flown out of the store when he pried it loose, and the sudden appearance of the pony surprised him enough to kick up an instinctual attack. He slapped the pony back into the store with the sign, and after taking a second to realize what he had just done, he began to pull back the sign.
In a throw that would have made a javelin thrower jealous, Flu hurled the sign up and towards the crack in the ceiling. The sign fell short, but the SUV he had hid under earlier came sailing through the air and knocked the sign up a bit more. The sign clunked up against the crack in the ceiling, but it didn’t do any damage. Rainbow Dash had just recovered from the sign slap though, and she was ready to charge back out… only for the sign to come down and hit her on the head. The SUV also came down on her as well.
Rainbow Dash wasn’t crushed, but she was pinned to the ground. The handicap sign had fallen under the SUV’s wheel, and the pegasus’s wing was under that sign at the moment. She desperately tried to pull her wing from it as Flu scurried off from the video store’s entrance. He began to search the salon for his blaster, eventually finding it and quickly scurrying back to the crumbling strip mall’s largest store.
Rainbow Dash finally managed to pull her wing from under the sign, losing a few feathers but not really worse for the wear. She saw Flu at the exit though, and he was now aiming his blaster up at the crack in the ceiling. In the ultimate test of blaster speed versus pony speed, Rainbow Dash flew towards Flu as he fired his shot.
The crack in the ceiling was blasted open and the building came tumbling down. Rainbow Dash’s front two legs kick Flu out into the parking lot, but even though she had reached the exit, her entire body hadn’t left the store. The crumbling rental shop collapsed onto her back legs.
Rainbow Dash was buried under the rubble of the building. Had she been a bit faster or a bit less injured maybe she could have outrun it, but Flu had managed to bury her. Flu himself was not in great condition, but he was barely able to pull himself off the ground, which was enough for Refbot to declare him the winner over the crushed pegasus.
No need to worry though, she may be flattened, but she is still alive! She’s just lost again is all. Today may not have been this pony’s lucky day, but Flu has emerged victorious due to his craftiness and cunning!
Flu had been relieved before the fite started when he had been briefed on the location. The interior of a strip mall seemed like a place the flying pony might have trouble flying about in. Fite 65- Angel in the Oddfield (Baltan vs. Dirk)
“Hello there, I’m Jumpropeman, and although I hate having to lead into a fite like this, I LOVE introducing our fantastic new arena! Suspended in the sky above Orvance and floating below the King of Beasts cruise liner is a fantastic new arena that appears to be the same as our old flat arena, but thanks to advanced holodeck technology, we can change this battlefield into any sort of environment we want! For the first fite of the year, we have chosen a Mesoamerican pyramid backdrop. Ancient Americans built these kinds of pyramids to honor the Gods, but were these holy beings really angels or were they aliens from another world, and how long can the History Channel milk that question for pseudoscientific programming?
Either way, we have an alien and an angel here tonight to prove who is more worthy of our admiration. We have our referee Refbot on hand to make sure things stay non-lethal, so let’s just get this fite underway already! Baltan and Dirk, prepare to Fite Yer’ Mate!”
The two fiters teleport into the arena on opposite sides of the giant pyramid and they begin in completely opposite manners. Baltan takes in the generated environment, marveling at the architecture of the giant pyramid and the many pillars that lined the paths to the staircases. Dirk, on the other hand, immediately dashes towards the pyramid and runs up to the top as quickly as he can. Standing at the top, he calls out to Baltan,
“Hey Baltan, I’ve got the high ground!”
“Yes you do!
…
What does that mean?”
“It means I have the advantage. Or at least that’s what they say in the movies…”
“Oh! Good for you! Can we share the high ground?”
“No! That would completely defeat the point-“
But before Dirk had even begun to say no, Baltan was bolting towards the pyramid. Dirk wasn’t going to give up the high ground easily though, so he begins casting a spell. Enormous fireballs begin to fall from the sky as a Meteor Shower shoots forward in front of the young angel. The staircase up the side of the pyramid is destroyed, and soon the path is torn apart by fiery death from above. The intense flames and the dust of crumbling pillars blot out Dirk’s view of the path below though, and he’s unable to tell if he has successfully hit Baltan. When the fires die down though, Baltan is nowhere to be seen. Before he had time to react, Dirk was grabbed from behind by Baltan, who had teleported up before he could be quashed by the meteor shower.
The huge claws of the space alien clamp down around Dirk’s arms and wings. Dirk may have been caught by surprise, but he was quick to react. A Heavenly Light shot out from Dirk’s body, forcing Baltan to let go and tumble down the side of the pyramid. After a long and bumpy fall, Baltan ends up flat on his back in the dirt. Dirk takes to the sky to avoid any further teleportation shenanigans and tries to think of his next plan of attack. Baltan watches the angel fly about in the sky and aims his claws skyward. He has a bit of trouble discerning the angel from the birds twirling about his head from all the head trauma he had experienced, so he begins to fire wildly into the air. Dirk tries his best to dodge the volley, but the randomness of the shots means he has no idea when to dodge and what parts of the sky were safe. He would have been better off trying to dodge lightning strikes.
Eventually one of the beams manages to hit him square in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him and the wind out from underneath his wings. Dirk careens down to the earth below, hitting his head hard when he makes contact with the ground. While Baltan had reacted to the head injuries with dazed confusion, Dirk responds to them with seething rage. The young angel clasps his head in his hands and begins stomping about, trying to hold in the screams of pain from landing face first in the dirt. Baltan’s loopiness was just wearing off though, so the alien was back up off the ground and ready to continue the fite. Closing the distance on foot this time, Baltan charges towards Dirk and shoulder checks him.
Dirk is sent flying, but then he begins to break his fall by flying. The dark angel flies back to Baltan and begins to unleash a flurry of punches and blows as he flits about the large alien. Baltan swings his claws and attempts to fire laser blasts at Dirk, but the angel is able to flutter just out of range of each blow. Baltan manages to get a few heavy swings on his opponent, but the dark angel is landing far more blows than the alien is. If you were to ask a group of mathematicians on who was doing more damage in this exchange of blows, they would wager the speedier and more accurate blows of Dirk were prevailing. However, the tougher skin of the alien made Dirk’s rabbit punches do little in the way of knocking his opponent out. Baltan realizes he is essentially a punching bag for the young angel, so he decides to make things a bit more interesting.
A second Baltan appears off to Dirk’s right and begins to assault Dirk with the same intensity as the original. Dirk tries his best to hold off both aliens, but he suddenly found himself fending of three Baltans as yet another clone appears to his left. Dirk was just barely able to dodge the assault of the three aliens, but when a fourth appeared directly behind him, his number was up. The newest clone clasped the angel’s wings and quickly fired a stun ray into each one, numbing up the wings and forcing Dirk to stay earthbound. The clone does not let up on his grip though, so as Dirk struggles to get free, the other Baltans begin to hammer down on him with their big claws. Dirk was in another pickle, so once more he relied on his arsenal of magic to get him out.
There is a sudden flash of light, but not heavenly light. The scent of deep fried seafood exploded outward from the group, and it was soon obvious that Dirk had turned all four Baltan clones into Tempura. The fried shrimp Baltan clones began to scuttle about on their odd legs while Dirk couldn’t help but laugh. The battered Baltans quickly regrouped though and attempted to assault Dirk together even though they were more prepared for dinner than for a fite. Their shrimp tails slap uselessly against the angel, and Dirk responds by pounding each on back with heavy punches. While his punches used to do little to the tough skin of the Baltans, these crispy cloned kaijus crunched as Dirk let loose on them. After a thorough beatdown, Dirk grabs the four battered tempura clones by their tails and hoists them above his head. They were still rather heavy, but he managed to twirl them about in the air in a surprising show of strength that still managed to look utterly ridiculous. However, the tempura status is not a permanent one, and before the young angel could toss them away, the four fried shrimp turned back into four heavy alien lobsters.
The duplicates come crashing down on the dark angel, their combined weight conking the kid out. The group of Baltans pull themselves up and stagger dizzily off their opponent to find he wasn’t moving. Refbot rolls up and begins a countdown.
The countdown barely reaches 6 when Dirk manages to pull himself up onto his knees. He looks up to see the many Baltans staggering about, dazed for the second time in this battle. Refbot rolls off as Dirk stands back up and prepares to reenter the battle. The four aliens take notice and prepare to charge the recuperated angel, but Dirk is quick to pull out another spell. The line of Baltans quickly tries to change direction as a Black Hole appears in front of the dark angel. Now, it wasn’t a humongous planet destroying black hole that even light couldn’t escape, but it was still a human-sized vortex that was trying to pull the aliens towards it. The Baltan furthest from the hole grabbed onto one of the stone pillars on the path and held on for dear life. The clone closest to him managed to grab onto his foot, and soon the remaining two followed suit until there was a chain of Baltans dangling in the air.
The clones begin to disappear as they start to meld back together in order to lessen the pull of the black hole on them. The process is to slow though, so by the time the last clone rejoins with the original, his grip on the pillar had slackened too much. Baltan slips off the column and goes sailing towards the black hole… only to find it doesn’t crush him so much as shock him. Still, Dirk’s intention was to reduce the amount of clones, and Baltan was back to fiting on his own. After recovering from the shock, Baltan immediately launches a laser blast at Dirk. The angel leaps out of the way and prepares a blast of his own.
“You wanna see what I can really do?” Dirk yells.
“YES! Please show me!”
“What? No… that supposed to be, like, the quote of the match, the one people will be talking about because it was so cool!”
“Yes, it was a very good line! Ooo, now I can’t WAIT to see what you’re going to do!”
“Alright… You ARE literally asking for it…”
Baltan, who could have easily struck at any time during that exchange, stands still as he waits to see Dirk’s spell. The dark angel strains hard, the magic beginning to take a toll on his strength, but he unleashes a massive Explosive Flame on the eager extraterrestrial. The inferno explodes in a wide radius, enough to even send Dirk tumbling back a bit, but when the fire clears it was obvious that Baltan had received the brunt of the flames. The alien was just as crispy as he had been when he was tempura, and he falls face-first into the ground.
Refbot rolls up again, checking first to make sure Baltan hadn’t burned to death. He was a bit blackened but still alive, so the referee began his countdown. Dirk fell down into the dirt himself from exhaustion, listening to the tiny beeps of each number as Baltan was counted out. But before the referee reached nine, the claw of the Baltan reached out and seized the referee, crushing the wand it held in its hand.
Baltan used the ref as leverage to stand back up, much to the chagrin of Refbot. Once Baltan was back up, the referee beeped angrily and handed the alien a chunk of yellow plastic. On it was printed the details of his penalty for assaulting the referee, but Baltan didn’t even bother to read the first line of text before he chucked it at the recovering angel. The yellow card hit Dirk square on the head, aggravating the headache he still had from his crash landing earlier. Dirk hopped up to his feet as quickly as he could, but the pain reignited in his head sent him into another fit of stomping rage. Baltan took the opportunity to launch two laser blasts from his claws, but even though Dirk was stomping about, he was aware enough to see the two beams heading directly for him.
Dirk quickly threw up a Reflect Barrier, and the lasers bounced away from him. One went off into space, but one of them was sent right back to Baltan, who took it square in the face. Baltan staggered backwards, but he still managed to keep himself standing. He isn’t in the best shape, but he intended to fite it out until the end. Luckily for him, Dirk was also rather exhausted, and although he wouldn’t let it on, even the most basic of spells would sap him of his remaining stamina. For a moment, neither opponent made a move.
Suddenly, Baltan began a last-ditch charge towards Dirk. Dirk prepared himself for the oncoming alien, but Baltan disappeared before he reached the young angel. Dirk immediately did a 180 to see if Baltan had teleported behind him, but the alien was nowhere to be seen. He knew the teleportation had a delay, so he closely watched his flanks as well, anticipating the reappearance of the kaiju.
What he didn’t expect was Baltan to teleport right back to where he had been. Baltan resumes his charge and manages to scoop up Dirk from behind before he could react. Clamping down on the boy’s legs and arms, Baltan released two simultaneous stun rays.
Dirk was immediately rendered unconscious, and Baltan dropped him to the ground so Refbot could do the countdown. The referee seemed to count slower than usual as a bit of payback to the fiter who harmed him, but even then Dirk could not recover from the paralysis before the counter reached 10.
There you go folks, Baltan has proven to be our winner in the first fite of the year! I hope you enjoyed this action-packed (and death-free) start to this year of Fite Yer’ Mates!

Fite 64 (Guest Writer: Gooper Blooper)- Robros Battle Broyale (X Demolition with Slime-inator vs. Zephyrus and Oceanus with Poseidon)
It has taken a month and a half for this fite to happen, but the wait is over.
Tonight, IN THIS VERY RING, two teams of robot bros go head to head.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for:
X DEMOLITION AND SLIME-INATOR
The Robro heroes Zephyrus and Oceanus arrive on one end of the arena riding atop Poseidon the robot shark. Zephyrus waves cheerfully, while Oceanus and Poseidon ham it up for their fans. On the other side of the arena, the doors swing open and X Demolition smoothly and steadily rolls into the arena. Big Brother is at the lead of the small procession, and he is followed by Little Brother, with Slime-Inator at the rear. The construction team got a fair share of applause, but not quite as much as their heroic opponents.
As the two teams got into position awaiting the start of the fight, Zephyrus and Oceanus nodded to each other, making signals and gestures. They had prepared for this match by carefully deliberating on who should fite who. It had been determined that Zephyrus should tackle Big Brother, Oceanus Little Brother, and Poseidon Slime-Inator.
Their careful, detailed plotting immediately went out the window when the bell sounded and all three construction bots immediately came down on Oceanus.
Big Brother, Little Brother, and Slime-Inator rammed into Oceanus, Big Brother readying his drill arm and Slimeinator withdrawing his claws and opening his mouth. Zephyrus was so stunned it took a few seconds to form a coherent plan to fight back. Oceanus, for his part, fired wildly, sending Bubble Lead flying everywhere. It didn't seem to do much damage to anything, and before the green Robot Master knew it, Big Brother had swung his drill arm forward.
The drill stopped just inches from Oceanus' body. Poseidon had bitten down onto the arm, and wasn't about to let his master get impaled! The shark pulled and yanked on the arm, trying to wrench it from its socket, but Big Brother retaliated by driving away, taking Poseidon with it, and swinging its arm around the arena, trying to smash up the shark.
Little Brother barreled towards Oceanus, but Zephyrus was ready this time, firing a Crash Bomb into the arena dirt. Like a mine, the shot went off when Little Brother drove over it, and the smaller of the two brothers is sent up and over onto his back, struggling to right himself. Zephyrus moved in to do some damage.
Oceanus was relieved his bro had driven off the others, as this allowed him to go mano-a-mano with Slime-Inator. The monstrous cement truck charged forward, jaws gaping and ready to crush, but Oceanus easily sidestepped the beast's charge. He ran up to the back of Slime-Inator - there was a big, obvious hole in his rear, and Oceanus was going to fire a battery of Dive Missiles right inside!
Except going after the rear of a cement mixer is not a particularly wise decision. Oceanus is promptly reminded why his enemy is called Slime-Inator when several dozen pounds of goopy sludge erupts from its mixer and onto the diverbot. "EEUUUGH!" Oceanus cries in disgust, looking at the dripping, oozing slime running down his chassis. But he soon gets over it when he realizes nothing has malfunctioned and he felt no pain. "...That's it? That's the best your slime can do?"
It was only when Slime-Inator spun around and began another charge did Oceanus realize how heavy the slime was. His agility significantly hampered, Oceanus is unable to save his cannon arm, which is snapped up by the monstrous cement truck. It doesn't come off - instead Slime-Inator just keeps driving onward around the arena with its goopy prize, dragging the hapless Oceanus behind. At least all the movement is starting to remove the slime.
Zephyrus, meanwhile, is trying to figure out how best to crack Little Brother...
Little Brother twitched and struggled, trying mightily to right itself and get away from Zephyrus, but the fanbot was having no part of it. A Spark Shot to the undercarriage stunned the forklift, allowing Zephyrus to reach down with his claw and try to prise open his opponent's undercarriage.
Suddenly, hatches on Little Brother opened and sticks of dynamite popped out. Even though it was Constructor X who tended to use this attack, Little Brother had all the necessary parts on his own. The dynamite sticks landed near Little Brother, and Zephyrus, eager to avoid getting blasted, quickly jumped off his enemy and stepped back. With Zephyrus finally off of him, Little Brother managed to self-right and drive clear of his TNT sticks exploding. Instead of fighting Zephyrus, Little Brother drove away, forcing the Robot Master to chase after him.
Big Brother's claw arm clamped hard around Poseidon's body, trying to crush it in its grip. Poseidon let go of the drill arm and thrashed madly, trying to escape, but it wasn't quite able to. Big Brother began smashing the shark into the ground repeatedly, hoping to knock it offline. Poseidon was too dazed to try his weapons...
Fortunately, there was a seventh participant in this match! Mini-Poseidon, the tiny shark atop Poseidon's head, ejected from its locked position and went after the claw arm of Big Brother like a robot piranha, sending strips of metal flying. Big Brother released Poseidon and trundled backward, withdrawing his arms and raising his front plow like a shield. Mini-Poseidon fired a laser, but it bounced off the scoop and fired into the audience, making a young Asian woman dive for cover.
As Little Brother led Zephyrus around, the fanbot began firing his Needle Cannon. While needles weren't effective against metal, they did pretty well against the forklift's tires. One wheel blew, then another, and Little Brother began to lose control. He shot off more dynamite, but Zephyrus used his chest fan to blow the sticks right back, and explosions rattled Little Brother's frame as he began belching smoke. Spotting Big Brother up ahead, Little Brother raced to meet him. The larger truck was still in a defensive position, soaking up laser fire from both Poseidon and his Mini-Me.
"Big Brother, we're in trouble!"
"That we are. It's time!"
For a moment, all is quiet.
"Big Brother!"
"Little Brother!"
"UNITE! BUILD FORMATION!"
Big Brother and Little Brother rocket into the air, surrounded by blue backgrounds and flashes of light as they combine and transform.
"MORPH BROTHERRRRRS... CONSTRUCTORRRRRRR X!!"
With a mighty crash, Constructor X lands on the arena floor and stares down Zephyrus, Poseidon, and Mini-Poseidon.
Now the true fight would begin...
Slime-Inator was really enjoying this battle so far. He'd slimed and manhandled Oceanus, and now it was time to finish the bot off. With a flick of his head, the monster robot cement mixer tossed Oceanus to the ground and reared up on his wheels, roaring and ready to crush him to bits-
But he hadn't expected the trident. Oceanus's trusty trident harpoon slams into Slime-Inator, and in an instant Zephyrus's little bro is on his feet and yanking. Slime-Inator bellows as he tumbles onto his side, landing hard. Oceanus releases his trident and makes a run for it while his enemy is unable to retaliate. Oceanus had caught a glimpse of the transformation, and he knew Zephyrus would need his help.
"DRILLLL KNUCKLLLLLE!!"
Zephyrus only just dodged the Drill Knuckle attack of Constructor X, pivoting away from the rocket drill and firing Spark Shots in retaliation. Unfortunately for Zephyrus, Constructor X's combined body was better able to resist his electric attacks, and the mech thundered forward without any noticeable issues, swinging his mighty claw down upon Zephyrus and cracking his head open. It was a strong blow, and Zephyrus staggered, leaving himself open to a brutal follow-up punch to the chest fan, damaging it and sending him reeling.
Poseidon and Mini-Poseidon spewed lasers at Constructor X's head, and he quickly raised his drill to try and deflect them. Mini-Poseidon's laser was redirected into the hapless Slime-Inator's front left tire, but Poseidon's found its mark, blasting out one of Constructor X's eyes in a spray of sparks.
"You're good."
The construction mecha's drill opened up, and a beam of light shot out of it.
"But not good enough! I SHALL DESTROY YOU... WITH MY LASER BLADE!"
Constructor X swung the Laserblade, creating explosions in thin air that blew Mini-Poseidon across the arena, creating a Mini-Poseidon-shaped hole in the wall, and the blade cutting deep into Poseidon.
In a retaliating thrash, Poseidon's axe tail sunk into one of Constructor X's legs, and he fired his acid and liquid nitrogen cannons at his foe, causing metal to begin to corrode and rust in some places, and freeze and grow brittle in others.
Oceanus ran up to his brother to see if he was all right.
"Bro, you okay?"
"I'm fine... takes a lot more than this to put me down!"
Even though some circuits were exposed and he was smoking dangerously, Zephyrus was willing to keep up the fight, turning to Constructor X and preparing a battle stance. The Wind Crystal in Zephyrus' forehead began to glow...
With all of his might, Zephyrus unleashed a tremendously powerful tornado from his chest. A tornado so powerful it made his already damaged fan pop right off seconds after it was made. The out-of-control whirlwind tore through the earth, and not even Constructor X was strong or heavy enough to withstand it. The mecha fell over with an earthshaking crash, and as the tornado dissipated he was clearly having some trouble getting up again.
Oceanus and Poseidon moved in for the kill, Zephyrus hanging back...
The claw shot forward in an instant, grabbing Poseidon and swinging him at Oceanus like a baseball bat. Oceanus was sent flying from the hit, soaring backwards and smashing hard into the arena wall before collapsing to the ground. Zephyrus raised his hand. Was... was he flipping off Constructor X?
Well, sort of. That IS how you activate the Middle Finger Missiles.
Large plates of metal, already weakened by acid, cold, and wind, now began to fall off of Constructor X, exposing circuits and wires. He lifted up Poseidon again, looming over Zephyrus. Zephyrus tensed up. He could think of only one defense at this point.
The instant the shark made contact, Zephyrus activated the Top Spin. Opposing forces had an argument, and a headless robo-shark was wrenched out of Constructor X's grasp, inactive and offline.
KO
Constructor X paused a moment, apparently not realizing what had just happened, and Zephyrus took advantage, swinging up with his claw and driving it into Constructor X's arm. The bigger mech stood up straight and took Zephyrus with him, the Robot Master hanging from the arm comically. He began firing Middle Finger Missiles at the mecha's head, but Constructor X simply retracted his head to avoid the attacks, forcing Zephyrus to shoot elsewhere.
Such as at the base of the claw arm, which soon gave way, sending both the arm and Zephyrus back to the ground.
Constructor X's head emerged again, and he stared down at Zephyrus, who was now busy trying to free his claw from the severed arm.
So busy, in fact, that he didn't notice the drill heading right for his back.
Impaled from behind, his battery shredded, Zephyrus slumps over and deactivates. Constructor X tosses the once-Air-Man behind him, and turns to face Oceanus, who has gotten up from the earlier assault.
Also having gotten up from the earlier assault is Slime-Inator, who finally figured out - he's not too bright - that he could get free by transforming. Now bereft of wheels, the flying wasp cement truck monster robot flies up and begins circling twenty feet over the battlefield, roaring.
Oceanus gets into battle position.
It was all up to him now.
Oceanus believed that he would be able to handle Constructor X in his current condition. In fact, he was quite confident. The addition of Slime-Inator, however, severely hampered things. Constructor X, feeling his body begin to overheat from the exertion of the fight, had opened his vents and was standing, immobile, to cool off. He was a total sitting duck.
And yet every time Oceanus tried to take advantage, Slime-Inator swooped down with lashing claws and gnashing teeth and forced the diverbot into a retreat. Oceanus was beginning to get annoyed, and realized he had to take out Slime-Inator if he wanted to win. Now, while Constructor X couldn't fight.
Oceanus turned his cannon on the flying robot, unleashing Dive Missiles, but Slime-Inator effortlessly dodged them. Gyro Attack fared little better. The Noise Crush, though, worked perfectly - the sound waves threw off Slime-Inator's systems, and the frazzled robot began to plummet. It tilted its wings to guide its descent towards Oceanus, but it was a fruitless endeavor - he merely sidestepped the charge, grateful that he was no longer covered in slime. Slime-Inator landed hard, creating a furrow in the earth and breaking off two of his claws. As his wings fluttered like a dying dragonfly, Oceanus deemed him no longer a threat and turned to Constructor X, who was still venting himself.
Perfect.
Oceanus charged towards the much bigger mech, squatted down, and leapt into the air, drawing back his hand.
Just as Oceanus leapt into the air, Constructor X's vents snapped shut. His remaining eye flashed brightly. His drill opened.
Oceanus' fist collided with Constructor X at the exact same time Constructor X's Laserblade materialized in the exact spot Oceanus was currently occupying.
...Now what?
Hold on a moment - the audience is going nuts - we have a situation here-
I'm looking out over the arena, and it's clear to me that none of our entrants are active at the moment. Constructor X lost his head, shutting off the two brothers simultaneously, and Zephyrus and Oceanus have both been knocked out, as has Poseidon. We're going to the referee...
"After reviewing the fite footage, we have determined Oceanus and Constructor X were knocked out at the exact same time. However, since Slime-Inator is active and Poseidon is not, we believe that the winner is-"
A tiny shark bellow cuts off the Refbot.
Mini-Poseidon, having finally freed itself from being embedded in the wall, is still alive!
"Oh, um... That changes things. Very well, then, Slime-Inator and Mini-Poseidon shall fite to determine the winner!"
The tiny shark is a miniscule fraction of Slime-Inator's size, but Slime-Inator has definitely seen better days. The Noise Crusher's effects still linger, and he can't get airborne. He drags himself forward with his claws, snapping at the little shark, but Mini-Poseidon can easily avoid the attack. He fires lasers, which do little to Slime-Inator but do leave nice little burn marks. Seeing the need to switch tactics, the sharkbot dives at Slime-Inator's back and spins upside-down, letting its razorblade dorsal fin slice a gash into Slime-Inator. One pass leaves a horrible groove on its upper back. A second strike shears off a wing. Mini-Poseidon twirls around and slams into the cement mixer's head, driving a long, nasty scratch into it, then the neck, then the back, and then-
And you forgot about the slime, didn't you?
And then that fucking slime explodes from the back of the monsterbot like Slimer taking a laxative, and Mini-Poseidon is buried in a tidal wave of green muck, getting pinned to the ground. Laser fire fails to destroy the slime, and biting just makes more creep into the shark's mouth and play havoc with his internals.
Smoke billowing from its body, sparks spraying from vital areas, and wings twitching like an insect hit with Raid, Slime-Inator eagerly hauls itself around in a rough half-circle and bites down on the wriggling pile of goo as hard as it can.

TEAM X DEMOLITION WINS
Well, that does it for tonight, sports fans - now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to buy as many Slime-Inator toys as I can before the price skyrockets.
...Boy, I feel awful sorry for Celestia.
Tonight, IN THIS VERY RING, two teams of robot bros go head to head.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for:
X DEMOLITION AND SLIME-INATOR
VS
THE RO-BROS AND POSEIDON The Robro heroes Zephyrus and Oceanus arrive on one end of the arena riding atop Poseidon the robot shark.

Fite 63- Mars vs. The Rider (Biollante vs. Doomrider)
On Mars, the larger of our two competitors is being bathed in applause.
Biollante stood above the many inhabitants of a Martian City waving
goodbye with her tentacles. She was off to fite Doomrider, the man who
had destroyed the city not too long ago. The rebuilding had been long,
arduous, and expensive, but now the city almost looked like it had
before the champagne flood Doomrider had unknowingly unleashed upon it.
The citizens whooped and hollered for their protector, wishing her luck as she went to fite the person who had caused them so much grief recently. What they hadn't expected was a fiery portal to open up right next to Biollante. The aliens all leaped back as Doomrider came roaring through the portal, laying down on his bike in a relaxed pose and eating fried shimp lazily.
"Doomrider! Why have you come here? Have you not caused enough trouble for these people?" Biollante roared and quickly positioned herself between Doomrider and the civilians.
"I figured I would swing by and see what all the fucking whining was about. This place doesn't look damaged at all! I think you just wanted a chance to slap me around."
"We rebuilt. Our lives were devoted to undoing your mess for almost an entire month! But we martians are a resilient bunch! We will not lose here today, we will show you the might of Mars's Resolve!" The civilians all roared with applause as Biollante gave her little speech. Doomrider pretended to stifle a yawn.
"That is so fucking cheesy! I can almost taste it! Now I'll have to fite you on a full stomach!"
"What?! No! Not here on Mars! You can do no more damage to it!"
"Don't worry toots, I'll avoid your precious fucking buildings and your testicle-headed citizens."
Before Doomrider could continue, Biollante had heard enough. With a powerful roar, she started the fite right their on her home planet.
Tonight's Fite:
Doomrider did not expect the giant tentacle swing that started the match. Shrimp spilled everywhere as the hedonistic hothead and his motorbike went flying out of the city and onto the red ground of the planet. Doomrider spiraled up off the ground and grabbed the handles of his ride, the flaming vehicle now wrapped in a rainbow of fire. The citizens of Mars were making sure to stay far away from the fite that had left their city, but a few delivered the Oxygen Destroyer to Biollante so she would have her weapon for this fite.
Biollante held the powerful weapon with one tentacle behind her back. Best to keep it out of her opponent's reach until she needed to use it. For now, she decided to use her acid sap to halt the approach of the Doomrider. A cone of flames as tall as her were approaching, and she only hoped that she would not soon burn with the many ethereal energies Doomrider could tap into.
The acid sap shot out of Biollante and onto the ground in front of Doomrider, but it had a different effect than intended. The bike could withstand the acid easily, but the acid had mad a series of potholes that made the bike start to rock uneasily. Doomrider, who was just having fun with his powers at the moment, had not been focusing on steering all too much. He was steering with his horns, and as they rode across the potholes, the bike's bumpy ride bent Doomrider's horns out of place. The now lopsided horns tipped the bike over, and instead of a roaring cone of rainbow energy coming towards Biollante, it was now a ball of exploding lights.
The kaiju sacrificed one of her tentacles to try and bat the ball away. The tentacle instead got wrapped up into the ball, and as the ball of light bounded and spun erratically, the plant's massive girth began to lean. The object was trying to pull her in! Biollante quickly used her mouth to snap the tentacle off, and it soon bounded off into the distance.
Doomrider was absent for a lot longer than Biollante had expected. That ball must have rolled pretty far away. Some Martians began to prematurely declare Biollante the winner, but then a distorted roar came across the horizon. It was the scream of a machine, but not Doomrider's bike.
Doomrider was riding back to the fite on the back of a Mars Rover. The Mars Rover was now belching flames from a massive metal maw it had somehow grown, and back on Earth NASA was scratching their head so hard from what they were now seeing through it that their fingernails were breaking. Biollante thought that Doomrider was far away enough to risk tossing the Oxygen Destroyer out there. A new crater was worth taking down her foe before he could do anything to her planet again. She pulled the tentacle forward and was about to ready the WMD when suddenly fireballs came raining down on her. The rover was barfing up a stream of pink lava as Doomrider hurled purple fireballs at her.
She lit up like a Christmas Tree, but she was not going to burn to death, at least not yet. Using her telekinesis, she kept her weapon away from the volley of fire and began to rumble towards Doomrider and his new mount. The lava vomit was getting closer and closer, but she reached some tentacles down into the ground and hefted a large chunk of Mars dirt out of the ground. The lava now pooled into the crater she had just made, and Doomrider had to slow his mount down to keep it from going into the new pink lava lake on Mars's surface.
Biollante hurled the chunk of earth... err, mars? The chunk of ground at Doomrider, and the rover instinctively tried to protect its master. Its metal maw grabbed the red soil, but it could not break it apart. The pink lava it was barfing up still tried to come out, but the ground was blocking the exit of the rover's body. It began to shake, and then it began to explode.
Doomrider was launched up into the air in an explosion of lava and dirt. Biollante used the moment to pat out some of the flames all over her body, relying on the soil of her home planet to put out flames from another dimension. It kinda worked.
As Doomrider came falling back down, he closed his mouth and his cheeks began to inflate. Biollante was expecting another barf of the fiery variety, so she shielded her face with her tentacles. But Doomrider did not expel flames, he expelled air. A typhoon of hot air came towards Biollante, pushing her down to the ground. Doomrider landed on top of the toppled kaiju and began to tear her apart with his clawed hands. Biollante's remaining tentacles reached up to try and grab Doomrider, but the Daemon Prince grabbed them and tied them into a Thief Knot. He wasn't trying to be symbolic or anything, it was just an easy enough knot to tie.
The Martians watched on in horror. Understandably, they were uneasy with seeing their protector being torn to shreds. Talk was going around the group of joining the fite. At least as a distraction. They had guns, they had flying saucers, they shouldn't have to sit back and do nothing!
The group was about to go get armed when suddenly Doomrider flew up into the air. Even Doomrider looked confused, but soon he could sense the type of energy it was. The Oxygen Destroyer rolled off to the side as Biollante's telekinesis shifted from the weapon to her aggressor. She quickly hurled him away and used her mind to unravel the thief's knot. With a great amount of effort, she pushed herself up and grabbed the Oxygen Destroyer in her tentacles. Before Doomrider could recover from being tossed by a giant plant's mind, Biollante hurled the bomb right towards him.
Doomrider hits the ground a few seconds before the bomb reaches him. Dodging the bomb's reach seemed impossible at the moment. Instead, he kicked back off the ground and went directly towards the bomb. Grabbing it and easing its momentum as best he could, he began to corkscrew through the air as he got closer and closer to Biollante. She was much too close to the city for comfort, so she began to charge towards Doomrider. If that bomb goes off, killing them both, then she would at least spare the city of as much damage as she could.
But Doomrider was not leaping in for a suicidal bombing, he ceased his spinning and used all the momentum that built up to hurl the bomb directly into the charging plant's maw.
*Gulp*
Biollante could not help but swallow the bomb as it came towards her. With that much force it was a wonder it did not tear through the back of her neck or explode on impact. The bomb landed in the kaiju's stomach, but it did not seem to immediately go off. The sap inside of her cushioned the landing, but it was slowly eating away at it. It was bound to go off any moment.
After his graceful throw, Doomrider landed clumsily in the dirt. He let out a whistle, and what remained of his motorcycle came to him. The ball of lights had wrecked it up something awful. It was less of a flaming motorcycle and more of a sputtering unicycle with some lighters attached. Still, it was fast and powered by Slaanesh, so Doomrider hopped aboard his unicycle and drove away, mooning the plant beast who was now a ticking time bomb.
Biollante would have given chase either way, but the mooning was just icing on her cake of rage. Biollante, surprisingly fast for a plant, tore through the Martian soil in her pursuit. Doomrider was riding his unicycle backwards now, trying to think of a way to slow her pursuit. An idea popped into his head, and he leaped off his unicycle to implement it. Landing on the dirt, he created a wall of fire so large that Biollante might be feeling a bit inadequate next to it. The thing is, a kaiju who know it is going to explode does not care much for self preservation.
She went right through that sucker.
The burning plant slammed into Doomrider, who thought she might stop upon seeing something that will surely deep fry her. When Biollante realized the tiny thing she bumped into was not a rock but her foe, she reached her tentacles down and seized him. It was at this point Doomrider realized something: He was not trying to keep Biollante from reaching his bike, he was trying to keep her from reaching him! The unicycle was sputtering around the Martian surface pointlessly now, a large amount of power stored in it because its rider was convinced the ride was the subject of the monster's pursuit. He shouldn't have had so many drugs this morning... and yesterday... and all month... and well, always.
The flames on Biollante were turning her body to an ashy black, and as Doomrider struggled to get free, the tentacles crumbled to bits. Doomrider laughed, realizing that the monster was hardly keeping together now that it was scorched. He whipped out some marshmallows and began to roast them on her body. Biollante tried to spray acid, but the bomb within her churned about and made the kaiju too anxious to continue the assault. The sap dripped down on Doomrider, who whipped out an umbrella that absorbed the acidic goo.
"Tut tut tut, looks like fucking gross rain!" he laughed again. He had this in the bag. If the bomb didn't get her, the fire would! Biollante tried to use her telekinesis, but the mind was too taxed from dealing with the pain of burning alive. All her options seemed exhausted, and Doomrider wasn't even trying to win anymore. He thought he had it in the bag after he hurled that bomb into her stomach...
This time, Biollante had an idea, and not one involving a unicycle riding around a planet for perhaps the rest of time. Biollante forced her immense body down and swallowed Doomrider. Leaning over caused the weakened kaiju to topple, but Doomrider, his marshmallows, and even his umbrella all successfully were gulped down and swallowed. Doomrider tumbled through whatever a plant monster's digestive system is like and landed in the sappy goo that substituted for a normal organic's stomach acid. Doomrider's hair fire was lighting the beast's stomach, but it didn't help Doomrider much to know where he was.
The goo was devouring his armor, and Doomrider flailed around in the acidic gloop as he tried to escape. As he flailed, his hands hit something hard, and he climbed up onto it to keep from sinking into the sap. He let out a sigh of relief and tried to stand on the object, but it began to shake, and he slipped off. He reached out for the object again, but this time his claws broke into it. His hair snuffed out, and for a minute Doomrider wondered what would cause his headfire to go out.
Fire can't burn when there is no oxygen. And fire definitely can't burn if that oxygen is destroyed.
The explosion decimated Doomrider, but it was inside of Biollante...
The kaiju had been unable to lift itself from the ground after it had toppled, but the explosion of its stomach had caused it to move. The force of the explosion destroyed all of her torso, but it also propelled her head away from the blast. By pure coincidence she had survived as just a head, but as the heavily scorched head went flying through the air, the Martians in the city looked up in horror. Seeing that going through the air was not a pretty sight.
The head landed in the city, skewered on the new statue of Zephyrus's claw. The Martian's looked at it in horror, some were crying, but the head began to move. A tiny grin, and a tiny message.
"Fear not... We have won on this day..."
The Martians cheered! Even though Biollante was a wreck, the beast had come back from this kind of mutilation before. Kaiju have a tendency to revive themselves anyway. Biollante wins, but only barely. Either way, a victory is a victory, and Mars has been avenged.
