Are you ready for three fights going on simultaneously? No? Too bad,
it’s happening! Tonight we have a really great show! In one corner of
the arena is the genre-savvy insect Widow Maker ready to take on the
hovering computer referred to as the Friend Computer! In another corner,
it’s the RED team’s espionage expert RedSpy taking on the cold-hearted
Monster Hunter Ivar! In yet another corner, it’s the ninja with a
Prince-song inspired getup Rain fighting the necronaut with the flaming
skull Designate_5! Ready…Set… Fite Yer’ Mates!
As soon as Gezora gave the signal, the fiters leap into action. Baby
Widow Maker chases after Friend Computer, who tries to keep its distance
just enough to avoid the stun baton. It would have to get in close to
do any damage, so it couldn’t waste time flying around too far out of
range. Rain had immediately shifted into water and rushed towards
Designate, trying to get into a crack in the skeleton’s armor. Designate
pulls up his Axiomatic Pipes and begins to blow into them, trying to
turn the liquefied ninja back into a solid form.
Red Spy and Ivar
hadn’t started fighting quite yet. The Spy spins his knife in his hand,
circling the Monster Hunter, ready to strike at any minute. Ivar has his
bowgun poised and ready to fire the moment the spy made a threatening
movement. Suddenly, the Spy’s cloaking activates, prompting Ivar to fire
a couple shots from his weapon. None of them make contact though, and
the spy begins to sneak around to Ivar’s left flank. Ivar spins around
wildly, trying to find some indication of where the Red Spy is hiding. Red
moves in towards his confused opponent, lifting his knife to quickly
finish the match with a slash of the jugular, but Ivar’s wild spinning
cause him to smack the invisible spy with the barrel of his bowgun.
The
spy stumbles back, his position exposed to Ilsaria’s brother. A couple
of Slicing Shots tear through the poor spy’s side as he pulls his knife
up and tries to get a blow in Ivar’s side. The Monster Hunter is too
fast for the disoriented spy's attack and he easily dodges and grabs the
spy’s arm. With a strong kick to the shin, Ivar manages to get his
opponent on his knees. He smacks the spy across his face with the bow
gun and then fires a shot towards the spy’s knife hand, but Red sweeps
his legs out and knocks Ivar down to the ground with him. The shot takes
of the spy’s pinky, but the hand is still intact.
The Spy gets
back up on his feet at the same time Ivar does. Red Spy pulls up his
knife and Ivar his bowgun. Red swings his knife, but the bowgun is swung
around to block it. The force of the two swings colliding cause both of them to
drop their weapons. Spy tries to turn invisible so he can reclaim his
weapon unseen, but Ivar pulls out a ball of paint and smashes it into
the spy’s face.
The Red Spy stumbles backwards and tries to turn invisible, but the pink
paint spot still shows despite the cloaking. He reverts back to normal,
ready to try and fite the battle normally. Ivar switches his Rathling
Gun’s ammo to Tranq shots and begins to open fire on the spy.
A
stray tranq shot flies toward Designate and glances uselessly of his
black armor. The water that was oozing towards the skeletal fighter is
getting slower and slower as the Axiomatic Pipes had begun to solidify
it, but Rain quickly shifts back to his human form. His two knifes flash
forward, trying to destroy the pipes that could turn the ninja to
stone. Designate is forced to stop playing them so he can save them from
being destroyed. Rain’s knives make contact with the necronaut’s gloves
instead, barely nicking them. Designate retaliates with a strong punch
to Rain’s face, knocking out one of his teeth in the process.
The
purple-clad ninja whips one of the knives up and tries to slash the
skull of the skeleton, but the blue fire singes his hand and causes him
to drop his weapon to the ground. Designate steps on the weapon,
snapping the blade from its hilt. Rain backs up and sheathes his
remaining knife for the moment, choosing to use his powers instead.
Purple lightning bolts begin to strike down from above, one hitting
Designate directly on his head. Electricity courses through his body and
suit, causing the various systems that maintain his afterlife to
malfunction. The necronaut finds himself unable to move, but he doesn’t
allow his opponent to see his distress.
Rain uses his power over
water to form a sphere of water around his foe’s head, dousing the blue
flames that usually surround Designate’s skull. The water begins to
course through the suit of the necronaut, wreaking even more havoc as it
short circuits some systems and disables others. Designate is powerless
to fight against the liquid as it flows back out of his suit and wraps
itself around the skeleton’s legs, snapping them outwards and bringing
Designate to what once were his knees. Rain walks towards his opponent, a
blade of water forming around his arm…
But who cares about that, a baby praying mantis is fighting a computer!
Widow
Maker had been taking swipes at the hovering computer unsuccessfully
for quite a while. Friend Computer would go in for a light shock with
its stun gun and then retreat out of the stun baton’s range just in
time. Widow Maker was beginning to get a little peeved, so she changed
her strategy. She scurried off through the battlefield, forcing the
computer to chase after her as she dashes by the other battles. The
computer tried to go in for a couple attacks as the bug scurried away,
but it ended up hitting the ground instead. Widow Maker reached the wall
of the arena and turned to face her opponent. Friend Computer knew it
was expected to strike at this moment, allowing the mantis to probably
crawl up the wall and board the computer, so it didn’t attack at all.
The two just stared at each other in silence.
Then Widow Maker stabbed its monitor.
Friend Computer flies backwards as its vision is obscured by the cracked
glass. Widow Maker knew that its opponent would realize it was being
lured into a trap, so she did something that a logical mind wouldn’t see
coming: a simple attack which in most cases would fail miserably. Widow
Maker didn’t have long to enjoy her tiny victory, for Friend Computer
was already flying back towards the little mantis. Widow Maker tries to
dodge, but the stun gun catches her by the claw and sends a strong
shock wave through the tiny mantis’s body. Widow Maker tosses her stun
baton into the air as electricity courses through her body, the sheer
power causing her antennae to singe. Friend Computer begins to amp up
the settings on its stun gun, but Widow Maker pulls herself away just in
time!
But her entire body didn’t go with her. The caught arm was
torn off as she tried to escape. The baby mantid screams in pain as she
realizes her claw is gone, but she still had her dominant arm. She
runs to pick up her stun baton and swings it around, clashing it with
the computer’s own electrical weapon. The two lean in towards each
other, looking at each other like a Jedi and a Sith do when they lock
lightsabers.
Suddenly, steam fills the arena…
Amidst the steam, only one thing showed: the bright glowing blue skull of Designate_5.
Rain’s
water blade had instantly turned to steam as the blue flames of the
skeleton’s head reignited without warning. The speed of the attempted
Fatality’s swing left Rain no time to react when his water blade
evaporated, causing his good hand to swing into the blue fires and get
singed as well. The burning hand managed to punch the teeth of the skull
at least, knocking a few out before the muscles of Rain’s hand are
burned to a crisp. Rain pulls his hand away from the flame and screams
in pain, both of his hands left useless by the accursed flame that
surrounded Designate’s head.
Designate tries to get up, but the
combination of a broken suit and broken legs leaves him stuck in his
spot. He reaches for his pipes and barely manages to grab them before he
finds his entire body surrounded by a large sphere of water. The
massive blue flame that had ignited around the skull was once again
doused as he floats around in the liquid orb, unable to even struggle
due to the powerful force binding the H2O molecules together into a
giant orb. Water once again explores his suit, but this time it begins
to pull out some of the smaller bones in his body and fling them onto
the arena floor. Rain struggles to keep the orb’s shape as he wills
streams of water to carry away bones, but he loses control and the
skeleton drops to the ground.
The damaged necronaut pulls his
body back up into its odd kneeling position and he empties the pipes of
any water. Rain realizes his opponent was going to try and solidify him
again, so he uses a jet of water to propel himself towards Designate,
his legs stretched forward to try and kick the skeleton’s head off. But
Rain isn’t fast enough. Designate manages to play a fast ditty on the
pipes, petrifying the ninja mid-flight and bringing the body crashing
down just inches away from Designate. The lower body crumbles into a
pile of tiny stones, Rain’s head propped atop them. Despite the
handicap, Rain tries to will the rock form into water so he could reform
himself, but his will is just not strong enough. Designate drops his
pipes and lashes forward with an arm, lifting the head upwards and
punching right through the ninja's skull, destroying Rain’s brain.
Designate falls to the ground, all the willpower he had mustered up was
now gone, and he could no longer control the suit or his own broken
skeletal body. He had wanted to watch the other two fites after he had
won his own, but he did not have the strength to continue. His fite
won, the necronaut let himself rest until he could be healed and
repaired.
When the steam had cleared up, both of the other two
battles had resumed. Widow Maker struggled to wield the stun baton that
was almost the same size as her while the Friend Computer attacked
relentlessly. It had determined that the weakened insect would have less
of a chance to defend itself, so it had fewer compulsions against a
more aggressive assault. Its attacks made frequent contact with Widow
Maker, but the stun baton had also struck it a few times during its
assault. Tubes popped and mechanisms fizzled out inside of the Friend
Computer as it was hit with each strike, but the mantis was the one who
was on the ropes.
Widow Maker had tried to scurry away from its
opponent, but its legs were proving too weak from the constant electric
shocks. Widow Maker was essentially stuck to the ground as Friend
Computer’s stun gun made frequent blows on the mantis. However, a chunk
of the monitor’s glass had managed to fall out after the frequent blows
from the baton made their mark. This particular chunk of glass happened
to house the majority of the computer’s eye, leaving it with even less
of a view on its opponent.
Widow Maker laughs, finally gaining an
advantage in the fight. But Friend Computer decides to compensate for
its lost vision with a new tactic: ramming the bug. It flies towards
Widow Maker and slams monitor-first onto the bug, causing the glass to
give way entirely as Widow Maker gets the strongest shock of the match.
One of her eyes bursts open from the strength of the shock, spraying a
mess of mantis blood on the insides of the computer. Widow Maker
struggles to push the monitor back up so she can get back out, but her
one arm is too weak. She decides to make the best of her situation
though, and jabs the baton into all kinds of parts inside the computer.
Suddenly,
Friend Computer’s speakers announce an imminent explosion. Whatever
Widow Maker did to it, the monitor was going to blow! Friend Computer
was now hoping for a double KO, so with its remaining parts it used its
hovering abilities to push itself towards the ground. The mantis
struggles desperately to get out, barely able to push the monitor up and
squeeze out, leaving the stun baton behind. She tries to rush away from
the computer, but two of her legs get caught in the remains of the stun
gun. She tries to struggle free as the Friend Computer sends a few
final shocks through her body, but realizes she won’t be able to in time
and makes the tough decision to lop the two legs off with her arm.
Without those legs, she’s barely able to get out of the deadly range of
the explosion.
Even though she was out of the explosion’s deadly range, the flames
still catch up with her and ignite her body. She begins to stop, drop,
and roll, putting out the flames before her exoskeleton is destroyed
entirely. She rests on her back and looks over towards the Spy and Ivar,
and chokes out a cheer for Red Spy before she faints from the pain.
The
Spy was trying his best to dodge the Tranq shots, but when an excellent
marksman faces an excellent dodger, someone’s bound to get hit
eventually. A tranquilizer hits the spy’s legs and begins to work its
magic, causing the spy’s movements to slow down. He struggles to
continue dodging, but he finds himself woozy and unable to keep up his
usual nimble movements. Ivar switches his ammo up again, switching to
the few Poison shots he had brought. He begins to open fire on Red, a
couple hitting their mark and further debilitating the fighter. Spy
falls to the ground and is forced to crawl as the poison and
tranquilizer mix in his veins. Even with his upgraded body, the strength
of poison and tranquilizers made for dragons is too much for him. Ivar
switches to his Level 2 Pellet ammo and walks towards the struggling
body of the spy.
Ivar puts the barrel directly into Red’s face,
right between the eyes. “I really have no problem with you or anyone
else, and I hope this will be the last time I have to fight any of you.”
The Spy quickly takes advantage of his opponent’s hesitation to finish
him and stabs his knife directly into the calf of Ivar, sending the
monster hunter down to the ground and within range for an uppercut.
Ivar’s head snaps back and the spy slashes the right forearm of Ivar.
Ivar screams in anguish and punches Red with his uninjured arm. The spy
falls flat as Ivar pulls himself back up, barely able to wield the gun
in his injured right arm.
Spy tries to tumble away, but ends up
vomiting from the poisons coursing through his veins. He gets up on his
knees as Ivar limps over and places the barrel on the side of Red’s
head. This time, he didn’t bother with formalities, and he launched the
pellets straight through the side of Red’ head.
Red Spy’s lifeless body falls to the ground as Ivar sits down to try and
nurse his leg and arm wound. A couple boos come from the audience, but
he disregards them. Even if he wasn't popular with the bargoers, he
hopefully had earned a bit of respect from winning the battle.
But
suddenly, he turns to stone, as do Designate and Widow Maker and the
entire crowd. The winners had already been determined, so Gezora had
tried to play a victory tune for them on the Axiomatic Pipes…
I guess he forgot they weren’t just normal bagpipes…
