FITE WEEK
is reaching its end, and many people are more than happy to hear this.
Something odd had permeated through all the battles of the week,
influencing combatants to do things they might not have done otherwise.
Only Jaxx and the Sheep had seemed to be immune, while some others
didn't even notice its touch.
But you didn't come to hear about a
creepy feeling in the air, you came to see Alex the Janitor use the
Ultima Weapon against Ilsaria and her massive hammer! Alex and Ilsaria,
get ready to Fite Yer' Mate!
Alex unsheathes Ultima Weapon, a weapon that gains power from its user's
lifeforce. Ilsaria hoists up her hammer, a weapon that is a big
motherfucking hammer. After the cuttlefish ref gives the go ahead, Alex
casts a strong wind spell beneath him to hoist him up in the air.
Ilsaria had begun a charge, but when Alex went up on the gust of wind,
she decided to instead stand still, waiting for the janitor/knight to
get in range. Alex brought Ultima Weapon down with the momentum of the
fall, using earth magic to push the ground up from under Ilsaria and
towards him.
Ilsaria let the earth magic push her towards Alex,
because as soon as the two met in the air, Alexander Triden found his
side slammed into with the massive monster hunter's hammer. He was flung
down to the arena, sliding across the ground and kicking up a nasty
cloud of dirt. The earth magic disappeared beneath Ilsaria, causing her
to fall and land painfully on her legs. She winced, but the pain was
hardly anything to what she has felt before. Readying the hammer once
more, she charges into the cloud of airborne dirt.
Ilsaria could
not see anything in the dirt cloud, so she couldn't tell that Alex was
actually right behind her. But he didn't do anything, not yet. He was
using wind magic to keep the dirt aloft, minor puffs of wind pushing it
up over and over. Ilsaria spent quite a while fumbling through the dirt
cloud, particles getting into spots between her armor and being quite
annoying! Ilsaria found her way out of the cloud, giving up on the
search for Alex. She removed a shoe and began to empty the dirt from it,
when the cloud enveloped her again.
"Okay, screw this."
Ilsaria
dropped her shoe and so she could swing her hammer around in circles,
spinning wildly through the dust cloud. The dirt was easily dispersed,
but probably more important was that the hammer once more slammed into
Alex, this time hitting him smack dab on the head. The tiny janitor went
flying again, but didn't kick up as much dirt when he landed this time. Ilsaria
looked at the end of her hammer. No blood, but there was a tiny little
hair.
Alex's idiot hair was gone.
Alex of course didn't
notice, the near-concussion he suffered from the hit was a lot more
pressing than the loss of a tiny hair. He lifted Ultima Weapon up, his
vision blurred and doubled. He hobbled about a bit, but when he
recovered from his daze, he could finally see Ilsaria coming towards
him. He deflected the hammer blow with his sword. The blow was strong,
and the sword almost groaned as it barely managed to absorb the strike
and push it aside. However, once the hammer did slam uselessly to the
side, Alex had no problem slashing at Ilsaria, whose chest armor took
the blow. Tiny bits of plating came dislodged as the monster hunter
briefly abandoned the hammer to try and dodge sword blows.
Alex
swung Ultima Weapon over and over, but Ilsaria only got hit on the
armored bits. Her movements weren't quick enough to dodge the attacks
completely, but they were quick enough to put the less vulnerable body
parts in the path of the swings. Alex used another earth spell, creating
a massive cage of stone around them so she couldn't keep running.
Ilsaria used his moment of spell casting to grab her hammer and begin
her own assault, but Alex also swung out with his weapon.
Alex
casts Protect on himself just in time to protect him from Ilsaria's
hammer. The two begin to go back and forth, hammer swings and sword
strikes hitting uselessly against each other's armor. Neither one
allowed a good hit to land on their bodies. Ilsaria pulls back against
one of the earthen walls, realizing she couldn't just win the battle by
swinging her hammer over and over. She would need a stronger blow to
penetrate the protect shield around Alex. Alex uses a Cure spell on
himself to recover the damage he had from earlier, but as soon as he
chose to do that, Ilsaria began leaping about on the walls of the cage.
The
heroic janitor began to do the same, bouncing off the walls like a flea
in knight's armor. Ilsaria took a swing as the two's leaping paths met,
but it failed to connect. The two bounced around the walls awhile, blow
after blow failing to make their mark. But then, one person's weapon
managed to connect.
Ilsaria's hammer broke Protect to pieces and
slammed the janitor down to the ground. Now that he was vulnerable,
Ilsaria jumped up to the top of the cage of earth columns and leaped
down, her hammer swung forward to try and squish her opponent into
janitorial goo. Alex stood up and looked up just in time to see a
monster hunter about to slam an enormous hammer into his head. There was
no time to dodge or cast a protective spell. Alex brought Ultima Weapon
up in hopes it could once more deflect the hammer's blow.
It couldn't.
Ultima Weapon shattered.
A massive black wave
emerges from where the sword had been and swept over the fiters, the
ref, and the crowd. Everything material disappeared. Everyone
disappeared. The area was empty and completely grey for a while.
Some figures could be made out in the murky gray air...
Remember the part where the narration mentioned that Ultima Weapon draws
on the lifeforce of its user for strength? Yeah, it turns out its
important. The wave of energy the weapon had shot out had decimated
everything material, leaving only the lifeforce's of those there. The
ghostly bodies of the fiters are the first to appear. The souls are
wispy, barely recognizable forms of their material selves.
The Alex ghost is visible first, his idiot hair apparently part of his
eternal soul. His legs are gone though, replaced by the ghostly tail of a
spirit. The faint lines that make up his body fade and reappear
constantly, but not enough to make him ever completely disappear from
view.
Next to appear is the other fiter.
Ilsaria, for some reason, kept her helmet when she was transformed,
which may serve to benefit her since the rest of her body was the naked
spirit form she shared with everyone else who had been hit by Ultima
Weapon's wave of influence. The ref and audience members began to appear
in the murky grey as well, all similarly rendered in this new ghostly
form. Jumpropeman doesn't look any different of course, he already looks
like this!
Alex and Ilsaria look at themselves, then each other,
than around. Alex braves floating first, finding the freedom of
movement on the z axis exhilarating. Ilsaria begins to fly about too,
but she slams against the ground when she tries to go through it. They
were lifeforces, not actual souls yet, and thus incapable of phasing
through objects or using other ghostly powers.
Alex begins to speak: "I don't know what exactly happened, but I think Ultima Weapon turned us into ghosts when you broke it."
Ilsaria replies: "Yeah, but we are all wispy and we don't have any cool powers. Wait, can I touch you?"
She reaches out and touches Alex. Yup, both are solid to each other. Gezora ghost floats by and sees them make contact.
"Gezora
says that if you can still make contact, that must mean you can still
fite. Alex and Ilsaria shall fite until one of them looks like they
can't fite anymore, because Gezora has no idea if we can die in these
forms."
The two ghostly competitors shrug and set up to fite in a
good ol' bout of ghostly fisticuffs. Gezora waves a ghostly tentacle,
and this ghostly battle is underway!
Ilsaria flies upwards, as
does Alex. Both had found the flight enjoyable, so both wanted to fight
and fly at the same time. Ilsaria is the first to take the offensive,
zooming towards Alex and elbowing him in what could be called his
stomach. He lets out an "oof" of surprise, but quickly retaliates with a
few punches to Ilsaria's head, but the helmet seems to still offer the
same amount of protection it did when they were in their regular forms.
Ilsaria punches Alex in the face now, actually harming the knight and
knocking off his concentration, sending him careening towards the
ground.
He catches himself before the fall completes and zooms
up. Ilsaria tries to hover away, but Alex grabs her tail and begins to
swirl her around. Ilsaria punches at the knight's hands, causing his
grip to slacken and he flings her away. She spirals wildly through the
air, but regains her control over the flight with a flourish. Flying up
in a stylish spin, she begins to spin like a drill and rams into Alex,
driving him down out of the air and into the ground.
"I don't know how I am doing this, but it is pretty awesome!" screams Ilsaria.
Alex
tried to move, but the points on Ilsaria's helmet were actually digging
holes out of his lifeforce. He tries to push her off him, but the
drilling Ilsaria spirit is too strong, and Alex gets more and more
exhausted as his lifeforced in blended away by a spinning ghost girl.
Alex is about to faint when he remembers his magic. He might have lost
his weapon, but he still knew spells. He casts an earth spell.
Will Alex Blend? That is the question...
NO HE WON'T!!!
The spires of earth dissipate Ilsaria's spirit body, leaving her a
floating head incapable of doing anything. Alex floats out of the hole
Ilsaria had drilled him into, surprisingly rejuvenated after Ilsaria's
constant assault had ended. Gezora floats over.
Gezora pokes at the head, but it just floats lazily away in the air.
Gezora asks it to speak or do anything to indicate if she was still
alive. It just floats there.
"Gezora supposes you win Alex, but it can't help but wonder, how are we going to fix this?"
Alex thinks for a bit.
"Well, lets gather Ultima Weapon's shards, maybe if we fixed it we can restore everyone's bodies..."
Carrying Ilsaria's disembodied head, Alex helps Gezora and some audience members find the shards of the shattered Ultima Weapon.
