Fite 1- Ghost Blunderbussting (Designate_5 vs. Saberwulf)

Alright everybody, it's finally time. Designate_5 and saberwulf, it is time to FITE YER' MATE!

Gezora, now wearing a lovely referee cap to match his new role, signals for the fight to begin!

Designate is quick to take action, attempting to sprint to his left. Saberwulf pulls up his pipe rifle and takes aim at his opponent, but as soon as he has a bead on the azure skeleton and takes the shot, Designate trips! His skeletal frame is not used to running without the aid of his metal suit. The trip also causes the blue flame on Designate's head to ignite his clothes, cloaking his entire body in the ethereal glow of an unholy fire!

Saberwulf quickly fires off a few more shots, but the blue flame obscures his view of his foe's body, making it impossible to tell if he did any damage to Designate. Designate gets his bearings and opens a portal with his knife, leaping through and appearing in front of his opponent. A quick slash, scraping Saberwulf's facemask, and then he is back in the portal, now on the other side of Saberwulf, slashing him in the back.

Saberwulf stumbles as he is attacked from all sides by the portal-hopping skeleton, unable to reliably aim his pipe rifle. Designate continues his barrage, delivering slash after slash to his opponent, all the while cloaked by a blue flame, but he gets sloppy. Saberwulf begins to notice an attack pattern.

Right, left, behind, forward, left, right, forward, behind. You should know better than to think in opposites, Designate.

Saberwulf uses his rifle's stock to deliver a heavy slam to his opponent's skull as he appears for another frontal attack. Designate falls to the ground, looking up at his opponent who now has the barrel of Tanhauser pointing directly at the skeleton's forehead.

But Designate is not through yet. He carves the ground beneath him with the knife, opening the portal to the other dimension. He grabs his opponent's leg, attempting to take the battle to the altmoon!

Saberwulf realizes he really should have just shot his opponent dead instead of looking cool pointing a gun directly at a flame-engulfed skull.

Saberwulf struggles to hold up the weight of his opponent and his own so they do not tumble into the alternate world. The skeleton, however, is surprisingly light, much lighter than a skeleton in a spacesuit, that's for sure. The blue flames begin to spread up Saberwulf's body from Designate's burning wrist, and suddenly a thought pops into the duck-faced man's mind:

"There's nothing stopping me from shooting him now, is there?"

The pipe gun again aims at the skull of Designate, but this time the bullet actually leaves the gun. Designate is barely able to swing his head out of the way, but the bullet makes perfect contact with his neck, severing his head and sending it flying into the air. Without control of his body, he drops the knife and the portal closes, leaving his head and arm stranded in the same dimension as Saberwulf. Saberwulf picks up his foe's head, ignoring the burning he feels in his hands.

He pulls up his gun to finish the job, but suddenly, Designate's flaming body tumbles back in through a spacial rift!

On top of poor referee Gezora :(

Saberwulf laughs and tosses his opponent's head up into the air. "PULL!"

Saberwulf wins! It looks like bobbleheads for all! Thank you both for participating in this year's first Fite Yer' Mates Night!

Now, we just need to do something about that flaming corpse...
