Eddie flies towards Optimus, seeking to distract the massive Autobot. Persephone had tried to charge towards Eddie first, but when he flew off, she found her first attack to be a complete miss. She begins to chase after Eddie, hoping to stop his charge towards Optimus, but she gets shoulder-checked by James the Blastoise. The surprise attack knocks Persephone to the ground, causing her to drop one of her massive claws in the process. James picks it up, trying his best to dual-wield a crowbar and Persephone's claw glove.
Optimus's Energon Axe swung at Eddie, who was flying around his head like an annoying bat. The rocker tried to hit the Autobot's head with his own axe, but Optimus found no trouble in dodging the swings. The axe was too heavy to swing quickly enough to hit Optimus, so Eddie decides to lower his strike zone. Flying downwards, Eddie slams his axe into Optimus's chest, leaving a rather big dent but nothing more. With his free hand, Optimus punches Eddie, sending him tumbling through the sky.
Persephone had gained the advantage in her battle, taking advantage of James's awkward dual-wielding to land blow after blow on James's shell. Unfortunately, the claws seemed to be doing nothing more than leaving minor scratches on his back. James quickly decided to abandon the prospect of using Persephone's glove against her, so he loaded it into one of his cannons and aimed both at the nimble pink robot. Projected by a blast of water, Peresphone's glove slams into her head, managing to sever one of the metallic pigtails she had for some reason. The strength of the water also did its damage, pushing Persephone across the arena. Her body began to spark a little. It seems she wasn't properly waterproofed...
Meanwhile, Optimus has begun to charge towards Eddie, swinging his Energon Axe in fast but planned swipes. Every blow barely missed the demonic metalhead, causing him to stress out from the futility of his situation. He tries to block one of Prime's blows, but the strength of the blow causes Eddie's weapon to slip from his hands. He flies after it and sees James, who had just blown Persephone away with his water cannons.
It was time for some 2 on 1 fun.
Eddie swooped down and picked up the Blastoise, flying him around like a sentient gun as Blastoise began to fire a flurry of Ice Beams at Optimus. Various sections of the Transformer began to stiffen with ice as the Autobot's movements slowed down. Joints had been frozen, leaving Optimus stuck in place. Eddie flies above Optimus and drops the turtle on the robot's shoulder. James begins to bang at Optimus's face with his crowbar, but then he remembered the real use for crowbars outside of violence. Prying. He placed one of the sharp ends into the space between Optimus's head and torso and began to push down in an attempt to behead the leader of the Autobots.
But before the decapitation was complete, a familiar pink robot leaped up Optimus's body and slashed at the side of James's face. The Blastoise tumbled off the large robot's shoulders, his crowbar still lodged in Optimus's neck. Persephone was sparking and twitching from the water damage, but there is just something about almost seeing your loved one literally lose his head that motivates one to do amazing things.
Persephone set to work breaking the ice in Optimus's joints, allowing the Autobot to move again. James struggles to get out of Optimus's range, but before he could an Energon Axe swung down and managed to sever one of the turtle's cannons. James screamed out for Eddie, who had just finished retrieving his Separator. Optimus's foot met James's backside before Eddie could close the distance, sending James upwards and causing the reptile to be rammed into the roadie in midair. The tumbling team landed in a messy bundle, with one of Eddie's wings actually stuck in a spot in James's shell. The two struggled to remove it before Optimus and Persephone could close the distance.
Persephone had been busy trying to remove the crowbar from Optimus's neck, but the Autobot leader told her not to bother and to focus on the fite at hand. With a quick nod, Persephone leaped off of Optimus and began a swift sprint over to the tangled twosome. James uses Double Team, causing both him and his teammate to appear in multiple places at once. Apparently all you have to do is be tangled in a friend to add them to Double Team's range.
Persephone took swipes at illusions as she tried to find the real one. They danced around in a kaleidoscopic manner, responding to the movements of the real versions by moving similarly but in other directions. Persephone yelled in frustration, but Optimus just watched calmly with a close eye. He pulled back his axe and brought it down.
The blow hits James's shell, causing a giant crack to form in the otherwise strong turtle armor. However, the strength of the blow jostled the shell just so, allowing Eddie's wing to slip free. Eddie hurled his axe at Persephone, managing to lodge it in her chest by complete chance. She looks down at it with surprise, but quickly tries to pry it out of her chassis.
While she was busy with this, Eddie and James were once more airborne. Optimus's massive body took some hits from Hydro Pumps as he tried once more to land a hit with his axe. This time, he managed to score an incredibly important one. Eddie's right wing, the one that just so happened to be tangled in a shell earlier, was cut off, causing both airborne fiters to freefall. However, James did not waste his time just falling. He managed to reach out and grab the crowbar as he fell, using his entire weight as a counterbalance.
POP!
Optimus's head tumbles to the ground as his body tumbles into a grey heap. The Autobot powers down.
Persephone looks on in horror, the axe still lodged in her chest. For a few moments she is absolutely silent. Then, she pulls the axe out of her body effortlessly, her body heaving as she assumed a fiter's stance. Her eyes turn red with anger.
"You killed Optimus Prime... You Killed Optimus Prime! YOU KILLED OPTIMUS PRIME! YOU KILLED OPTIMUS PRIME!!!"
James, who had been crushed under the lifeless body of Optimus, crawled out from underneath the Autobot. Eddie hadn't noticed earlier, but the dent the Separator left on the Autobot's chassis was more severe than it seemed, wires dangling out uselessly from the wound. Speaking of Eddie and his weapon, Persephone chasing the demonic roadie with the axe was the first thing James saw when he was out from under the robot. Persephone was clearly more pissed than a family reunion of the Honey Badger's in-laws, but her axe swings were wild and unwieldy, leading to mucked up attacks that only managed to hurt the ground. James took a moment to right himself and recover before he began to dig into the dirt.
Eddie was weaponless and not ready to face the pissed off pink robot, so he lead her over to Optimus's body so he could use it as cover. Persephone neared the body of the fallen Autobot, her eyes flickering with sadness. She hurled the Separator at Eddie, hoping to mimic his earlier success with the tactic, but it ended up lodged in the dead Transformer's waist instead. She quickly apologized to Optimus's body, sparing a moment to give her brief respects, but a brief moment was all Eddie needed to reclaim his weapon.
Too bad the Separator was stuck. Eddie Riggs tugged at the axe, hoping to dislodge it before Persephone noticed. He looked towards the pink robot as she was charging towards him, ready to continue the battle, but something came between them.
A giant blue turtle burst out of the ground and sprayed water everywhere. Although Dig had hit Persephone dead on, he took the water blast precautionary measure just in case, which actually payed off when she landed in the water after receiving the blunt force of Dig. Unfortunately, the sparking robot electrocuted the entire puddle of water formed from the crazy water blasting, which would not be a problem if Eddie was not also standing in the water. Eddie is electrified and stunned from the shock, falling face first into the water. James quickly helped Eddie up before he could drown in shallow water.
Persephone got back up, sparking, but alive. She stumbled away from Optimus's corpse and the Roadies & Reptiles team. Looking around the arena, she manged to find one of her claws in a mess of mud and water. Picking it back up, she spared a moment to try and drain any water that got inside her body. Eddie was back on his feet, disoriented but alive. Persephone glared at the two. And then she charged.
James had no trouble dodging, launching more water from his cannon as he simultaneously used Double Team to make it more difficult for her to stab him with her recovered claw. Persephone took the water blasts without flinching, but she didn't even try to hit James or one of his doubles. Eddie was too weak from the shock to dodge properly. He tried to move, but ended up twisting around into an awkward fall.
But before he could finish his odd spinning fall, Persephone closed the distance and lifted him back up... with her claw.
She turned around in an outrage, seeing James holding another piece of Optimus's corpse in his hand. Eddie sighed with relief as the pink robot charged towards James instead, leaving him alone in the mud and the blood and the oil.
James clambered up onto Optimus and fired water all over the arena until it was almost entirely drenched. Then, he fired ice beams at the ground, causing it to freeze. Persephone had just reached him after he had made the arena to his liking, so he leaped off the Autobot corpse and began to skate around on the fresh ice.
"Come and get me!"
Technically, a tortoise would have difficulty skating on ice with its bare feet, but that is the wonderful thing about being a Pokemon. Somehow, Pokemon could battle on most any environment, even ones they shouldn't logically be able to, without having their walking impaired. In other words, James is a Pokemon, he's skating on ice effortlessly, don't question it.
Persephone however, has no excuse to skate fine in high heels, so she finds the icy arena to be a perfect place to fall over repeatedly. James skated circles around her, using Double Team to make it appear as if she was surrounded by skating blue reptiles. But Persephone just sat there, considering the situation. She pulled her claw glove up...
And hacked off both her feet.
James's circling slowed down a bit as he stared in shock at her hacking off more and more body parts. She eventually found a proper part she could use, and fastened that part and its counterpart to both of her leg stumps with some of the wires she hacked loose. She created makeshift skates.
"I won't lose. I will... avenge... Optimus..."
Persephone began to skate about as well, even though she was shorter, the part she used as skates put her on eye level with the blue tortoise. She leaps up in an axle, her claw glove slashing away the illusions and slicing one of the real James's ears off before he could properly dodge. James may have no trouble moving on ice, but he did not have the graceful skating movements Persephone did. James spun in circles, trying to keep track of the quick pink robot. In fact, he got nauseous from the spinning, causing him to tumble on the thin ice and break some of it. Persephone closed the distance, pulling her claws back to stab them into James.
Eddie leaps up onto her back.
What we hadn't seen was what Eddie did after he was incapacitated. He wasn't quite dead yet, so when the ice froze the arena, he used it to slip towards the fite to try and help James anyway he could, maybe even just as a distraction. When James fell, he positioned himself just so, and when she passed by, he mounted her back in a weak but successful leap.
Persephone stabbed at Eddie multiple times, further injuring the already near-dead roadie. James got his bearings just in time to blast with a Hydro Pump, knocking her onto her back. Unfortunately, that meant she landed on Eddie and broke the thin ice as well. Persephone slashed Eddie one more time before she left him in the broken ice to face off with James. She skated towards the Blastoise, readying to uppercut the Pokemon with her claws. But she found her body seizing up and freezing. James had fired a powerful ice beam at the robot.
The completely frozen body of Persephone scooted harmlessly towards James. The Power Points for his attacks were low, but he had one last point for Hydro Pump.
