Fite 24- War Machines (FITE WEEK! Zephyrus vs. WarMech-3)

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! ARE YOU READY FOR THE FINAL BATTLE OF FITE WEEK? IN THE, well, it doesn't have a color, but... IN THAT CORNER, ZEPHYRUS! IN THE OTHER CORNER, WARMECH-3! The announcements would be a lot more interesting if they had weights and heights, but whatever. Anyway, LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE! Zephyrus and WarMech-3, PREPARE TO FITE YER' MATE!
Zephyrus hops onto Mach and takes off immediately, WarMech flying up into the air after him. A hail of machine gun fire pours out through the mech's guns, most deflecting weakly off Zephyrus's reinforced chassis. Some do penetrate it, but not enough to deter Zephyrus's movements. He swings around on Mach, opening fire with his own weaponry. Crash Bombs sail towards WarMech, some detonating as machine gun bullets make contact with them.

Some of the bombs do manage to lodge into WarMech and detonate, taking out tiny chunks in his body. His regenerative abilities quickly get to work replacing them as WarMech switches his style of assault. More Crash Bombs fly towards it, but the mech fires laser beams through all of the bombs and detonate them.

Zephyrus loses sight of the mech amidst the explosions, so he tries to use his fan to clear up the air a bit. Before he finished, the giant mech flies through and tackles the former robot master and slams him to the ground. Neither of them land gracefully, Zephyrus on his back and WarMech on his face. The two gather themselves and then turn to each other.

Zephyrus's claw lashes forward, snipping one of the wires on WarMech's body. The Mech stumbles about a bit, but the body begins to try and heal up the damage as best it can. WarMech sparks a bit as he kicks the blue fanbot away and fires laser beams at Zephyrus, who does his best to dodge the damage. Parts of his chassis are scorched, but no severing takes place.

Zephyrus switches his ammo type, firing Metal Blades at WarMech wildly. The tiny saws fly all around the arena, many missing the mark and sticking uselessly into walls and the ground. However, the other cords on WarMech end up severed, leaving the machine frozen in place. WarMech struggles to move, but its regenerative powers quickly got to work compensating for the damage.

Seeing that WarMech-3 was disabled, he decided to walk in close to his opponent. He gives the mech a light kick, seeing if it was still functional. Then, WarMech gives him a powerful kick to the center. Zephyrus tumbles backwards, some of the missed metal blades in the ground scraped his own body. Zephyrus picked himself back up and fired at the mech again, who dodged back and forth as he opened fire with his machine gun bullets.

Something is in the air of the arena again...

Zephyrus and WarMech feel odd. The two had been trying to avoid damaging each other too much, but now... something made them feel like it was time to take it seriously.

Crash Bombs exploded around the WarMech as machine gun bullets tore into Zephyrus's body. The two walk in close to each other, their bullet ripping holes through their bodies. Soon they are face to face, still firing at each other. Both look like swiss cheese robots, if such a thing is possible. Zephyrus reaches out and clamps the wires that had healed earlier, once again severing them.

Something about the wires getting severed made WarMech feel different. It didn't want to hurt Zephyrus! It was here to spar. Luckily, it was right in Zephyrus's face, so it had no trouble pushing Zephyrus away and onto his face. Zephyrus tries to pull himself up, but suddenly, WarMech is standing directly on top of him.

WarMech begins to hop up and down on Zephyrus, pushing him deeper and deeper into the dirt.
Zephyrus struggles to get out from under the mech, but he can't push the giant thing off of him or slip out during the hops. He aims his cannon upwards as best he can, and launches a flurry of Crash Bombs.

Explosions surround the mech and the robot, obscuring the view of the two combatants.

Out of the explosions spills WarMech-3, who has a fanbot on his back ripping into him with his claw. Zephyrus tried to rip off parts, but the shaking mech made any damage more then surface damage near impossible.

WarMech considers the situation as it thrashes about, eventually deciding on a way to remove its foe from its back. Kicking against the ground, he sets himself into a tumble, crushing the fanbot against the ground and removing it from the top of the mech. WarMech ends up on his back, but uses his flying powers to right himself and takes to the air.

Zephyrus stands up and readies his fan, the blades spinning faster and faster as he tries to aim them towards the frantically flying WarMech. The Wind Crystal begins to glow...

A massive tornado took the mech by surprise, flinging it about with a strength stronger than any natural tornado. The WarMech tries to fly out, but the suction is too great. Chunks of the mech fly off, the wind flinging them across the arena. The airborne machine found it incapable of escaping the vortex, so he decided to try and fight from the tornado. Opening fire with machine gun bullets and lasers. Lasers and bullets filled the arena, making Zephyrus have to dodge about like a madman. Err.. madbot. He began to fire both of his weapons into the tornado in an attempt at retaliation, which only led to the saws and bombs being flung back into the arena by the strong winds.

Explosions blasted Zephyrus, blades tore into him, bullets sailed through him, and lasers singed him. Using the Wind Crystal, he decided to weaken the wind's strength, causing the WarMech to fall to the ground in a pile of saws, bullets, and bombs.

And then the bombs exploded.

Bullets and saws sprinkled everywhere like confetti at a masochist convention. The blue robot was pelted with more of the ammo as it rained down upon them. WarMech, on the other hand, was severely damaged by the explosion. He struggled to even move, finding most of his body destroyed by the mix of bombs and bullets. Zephyrus walked towards the Mech.

"WarMech, it was a good battle."

"AGREED."

"It's time to finish this then, isn't it?"

"INDEED."

Zephyrus readies his cannon, preparing to fire a Crash Bomb into the regeneration core of WarMech-3, which should finish off the mech and end the battle. He hesitates, perhaps he was rebelling against the dark influence that was in him, perhaps he just didn't want to finish off WarMech-3, but something made him hesitate.

This short moment of hesitation allowed the Mech to use his laser to sever both of Zephyrus's arms.

Zephyrus back peddles as he realizes both of his arms had just been removed by what he thought was a finished opponent. WarMech-3's weapons began to shake and then explode from the pressure of working when damaged. WarMech stumbled towards Zephyrus. The two were both essentially unarmed. Zephyrus tries to make his fan spin, but some metal blades were lodged in it, preventing the blades from even getting started.

WarMech kicked Zephyrus down and stood on him once more. He was starting to regenerate, even his weapons started to reform.

"IT LOOKS LIKE I WON. AGREED?"

"Yes. Good match WarMech, but I believe there is something you have to do to win. Please, be quick about it..."

"NO. I WILL NOT KILL YOU. I HAVE... A COMPROMISE."

The rest of the conversation is hard to hear, but Zephyrus is heard agreeing to it.

Suddenly, the regenerated laser begins to carve into Zephyrus. Parts are cut off, and Gezora declares the KO. But it's not over.

WarMech begins to place parts of Zephyrus's body on his own, welding them there with the laser. Soon, Zephyrus's eyes are attached to the robot. His hardrive and crystal are placed atop the mech and welded in. The fan is added to his buildup. The combined voice of Zephyrus and WarMech-3 speaks.

"WE ARE NO LONGER WARMECH-3 OR ZEPHYRUS. WE ARE... WARMECH-Z!!!"

"THE ADDED PARTS DON'T QUITE WORK YET, BUT THE WIRES NEEDED FOR CONTROL WILL BE ADDED LATER."

"Gezora will allow this combined competitor to move on to the finale. But on one condition..."
"You must remove these saws from Gezora and unpin Gezora from the wall."
